Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

I was a little disappointed with the class I felt the wool and the crochet hook was to thick for beginners there was 4 of us in the group yet the leader seemed to focus on one of the group and when the others asked anything just said we’d do it all together or on one occasion raised her voice which was in called for x don’t feel I learnt anything

Angharad was my tutor, showing design space features on iPhone and laptop.
Very informative and guidance was clear. Angharad appeared to enjoy sharing her knowledge and was very friendly. Would highly recommend a workshop, was well worth the £22.
Only drawback is having not restraints with spending money in store

I showed up at 2.30 due to getting the time wrong, but the store manager agreed Hayley could redo the class with me and my daughter, and I'm so grateful It was another lovely workshop and she's very happy with her new wand and flower. I've booked some more workshops with her, and she's very excited!

This is our second workshop with Hayley now, and I can't fault her. She's super friendly, patient, and helpful, great with my daughter, and explains everything so well.

A fun workshop, could be longer as nobody wanted to stop creating. Excellent teacher, she had prepared examples to inspire the children and was full of encouragement and praise for their models, also lots of advice on mixing colours, shaping parts and drying them etc. Generous amount of clay provided in a variety of colours and plenty of feathers and googly eyes to adorn the monsters. Great way to inspire children to get creative.

Very good value for money. No shortage of paints to use. Took two children 6 & 10, the technique shown was easy enough for them both to follow. They have since done a couple more canvases at home.

I took my daughters (4, 7) to the clay Easter animals workshop, and it was fantastic.
Both girls loved it, and had all the materials needed provided, and were allowed to take leftovers home.
It was excellent value for money, at £5 each for the session.
The staff members were super friendly, helpful, and great with kids!

We came to Hobbycraft in Swansea today. We made a great Easter Bonnet. We recived the kit and there was a variety of additional materials available. My son and I had a great time:) Our teacher was very helpful and explained how to make flowers out of pipecleaners. It was a great value for money. I would recommend it :)

I am an absolute novice and struggled. The instructor was patient, friendly and encouraging and the other ladies produced good samples, mine was atrocious! I was ok on the first chain but it went downhill from there, this is no reflection on the session, just me. I think I need 1on1 but this is not available locally.

I thought this would be a nice activity for my daughter, and I'm really glad we booked it. It was only £5, and 30 mins long, with all materials provided, making it great value for money. Julie who took the class was very lovely, welcoming, and friendly, and my daughter is very happy with her rainbow! I've now gone and booked some more workshops for her

Keely was a fantastic teacher!
And the kit was really great, too.
But the course itself - at 1 hour - is too short to actually complete the craft. We didn’t even get halfway and time was up! The wiring took half the time… this needs 1.5 hours at least, or not wiring the star frame. We all left with unfinished projects, sadly.

Enjoyed our crafting class this morning with Angharad our tutor who was lovely and very knowledgeable . We had ceramic Christmas baubles provided with a variety of paints and we decorated them with a marbling effect . I had no experience but came away with some nicely decorated Christmas baubles . Very happy crafter

Lovely tutor and enjoyed what I did but the hour slot is far too short for this project . I was the only one in the class and the lovely lady who was instructing me would not have managed more people in that hour . I have not done anything like this before and would liked to have completed my project before coming home . It was advertised as beginner level but I now have to complete on my own without advice . Very disappointed with the lack of time but the tutor was great and liked the materials I had been given to work with

I attended a one to one sewing class with Julie at the fforestfach store today. The hour passed so quickly and at the end of the session I came away with a small piece of work practising stitches. Julie showed me the absolute basics, as I had requested prior to my lesson. I am looking forward to making some small Christmas gifts for my family.

Lovely hour of craft with a competent and enthusiastic teacher! Learnt a lot, but felt the " kit, supplies " were not amazing. Did a wreath making class last Christmas, and we were given far more ribbon and berries etc. However, I did enjoy the experience very much.

Julie was absolutely lovely - kind, considerate and patient with a self taught, not over experienced pupil.
She explained every step, one bit at a time and made sure I knew what to do and I ended up coming away with a lovely little bag.
But not only did she give me tips on other things like how to sew around corners she gave me something far more precious confidence in my own ability andfor that I am most greatful. Thank you.

The idea was good but the quality of the paints wasn’t ideal and so the whole letter bled round the tape. There wasn’t enough room for all the parents to supervise their children. And it took half an hour, if that.
So while it wasn’t a ‘bad’ activity, it definitely could have been improved. That said my daughter enjoyed it overall, and the lady running the session was really lovely and enthusiastic.

I had a sewing workshop today with Julie in the Swansea store. She was great and very patient with me as a complete beginner in sewing. She explained things very thorough and gave me great tips and made me very confident in what I was doing. It was great value for money, I would highly recommend anyone interested in doing a workshop or wanted to start a hobby to go and do it. Julie had great knowledge and passed some on to me. I’ve never been more excited to sew now :)

Enjoyed my little session at Swansea Hobbycraft . Only 3 in our session and teacher was patient and knowledgeable. Good chunky wool and a large crochet hook was provided which were easy to work with . I had a basic idea of technique before going so I could make the most of the time available. I do think follow up sessions would be beneficial as it is difficult to learn a new skill in one short session

The teacher was excellent with children. Went at a great pace and did not mind when children did not exactly follow her teachings. I would price the activity a little cheaper than £5 a head considering each packet of clay is £1 each, and the activity used a lot less than 5 packets per child, i would go as far to say that it didn’t even use 1/2 a packet. Charging that much in this climate was a little disappointing but overall a great experience. We used to join the activities when they were free which encouraged me to pay for this one but only because this is the cheapest one on offer. Other activities I have chosen not to do because of price.

This isn’t a ‘tutorial’ as claimed on the website. There was no direction or guidance at all. The staff member just put the materials in front of the children and that was it. It would have been nice for her to lead and demonstrate techniques in some way, she was very nice and encouraging, though. The stickers used weren’t ‘Easter stickers’ and were quite basic. Overall a bit disappointing and not value for money.

I am giving only 3 stars because the name of the workshop is confusing. I thought we were making an Easter bunny too but we just made the pinwheel.

The session was great - just what I needed - the ability to see the software, have a look around the machine and create a gift. - it was hands on and I was able to ask as many questions as needed, all of which were expertly answered by my host. This class was brilliant. The teacher was patient and clear. I managed to make progress after endless frustrating attempts at following YouTube videos so I’m over the moon!
Sadly though, there are no more crochet classes to sign up for at my local Hobbycraft. It would have been great I could have signed up for a further lesson to build on what I’ve learned. I know I have more questions and need further input in order to progress. I might go online and make a request - perhaps other people will do the same - so that a further group lesson can be organised.

My child enjoyed and the girl running it was lovely.
I thought it was going to be a class where kids learn things but we were given paints, pencils and crayons and just told to do our own thing so wasn't a class. Could have just done the same at home.
My child enjoyed anyway so that's all that matters.

Lovely lady and reasonably good art supply's. My daughter and her friend enjoyed. I feel it could've done with a bit more structure/tuition, instead of here are our art supplies, draw whatever you like. It won't put me off coming back, but it could've been better.

Great experience, I've wanted to start painting for a little while but not a clue what to do and where to start. The lovely lady taking the class was fun & chatty. I went alone and I didn't feel out of place at all, very welcoming and a great morning plus you came home with your art/prints plus all the paints - such good value for money - would definetly go again :)

The teacher was brilliant. I’m left handed and she taught right and left handed. The materials provided were really really nice and the class was a great success, situated in an ideal position in the shop. By the end of the class I certainly had mastered what I hoped. I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop. Our tutor was very informative, knowledgeable and helpful and made you feel instantly at ease. I learned how to chain stitch, double and treble stitch and I was so pleased with my progress The tutor was happy to help at all times and the atmosphere in class was lovely. So glad I booked on.

i loved it the teacher Nicola, in the hobby craft sore Fforestfach Swansea on the Saturday 17th December, she was really lovely and took time to show us to crochet, it was relaxed and enjoyable hour and half,
and the other people at the class, were great all got on and had a good time,
laughing and comparing how we were getting on,

Friendly tutor, good workspace, mostly high quality equipment provided, nice class size.
Only downside was a few faulty pens in the box.
Online classes seem to have had more experienced teachers in their chosen craft. Still a lovely afternoon with good company and still recommend it to get over the fear of a new craft adventure.

I couldn’t really say it was a workshop because the person teaching it hadn’t really done it before. They show you a pre-made one advice what to do and that’s about it. The lady was lovely but honestly you could buy the stuff and look online and follow someone on YouTube and it would be cheaper

The teacher was really friendly. The store used yo have 10 + in the class. I usually go with my sisters and with 5 limit we can't all attend. I would not say it's value for money some classes used to cost £1 not all crafts aff up to money we are paying per child.
Staff have always been friendly and we've always enjoyed the workshops.

Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the few hours creating my Christmas wreath. I found the experience very inspiring and thought our instructor was most helpful in suggesting ways to structure the wreath and add to it with any natural materials we could find. The instructor was very considerate with others who were not as fast (slapdash!) as me, and I
felt it was quite OK to ask about next steps etc. Really enjoyed the day and am ready to start my own hand-made variety now. Would love to do another workshop and I do feel that it is worth the outlay - I have my wreath to show for it and it's already on my wall!

We thoroughly enjoyed our craft class today. The Class was perfect for our little ones - aged 3 & 5, all materials were very suitable and wonderfully mess-free! The children made a dinosaur model and some fossils with clay and they loved the experience. So much so, we purchased some clay to bring home which they are currently using!

The teacher was wonderful, very helpful and very encouraging and our children were delighted with the class. Great value for money.

Location at Swansea is fab - plenty of parking and easily accessible.

Acrylic pouring is easy and good fun as you can experiment with colours. It’s great for beginners who want to try painting and not sure where to start. Also the kit is good and the course was value for money. Already booked for another course.

I attended a 1 to 1 Cricut Joy session with Nicola in the Swansea store today, it was very accessible as I'm in a wheelchair so thats important, there was a great atmosphere and Nicola was very friendly, informative and made sure that I got the most out of the session. I brought my own materials so we were able to make a vinyl banner that I wanted and talked me through it all aswell as showing me. I was very impressed with her knowledge and capabilities so I knew I was in great hands. I would definitely recommend these workshops and I will be back! Thank you Nicola xx

Hannah was very pleasant and helpful . However when I booked the Hobbycraft cricut workshop I was expecting to have been sat at a table and not standing in the middle of the store for an hour. I thought I would have been able to have had a go myself at the end of the tutorial , maybe have walked away with a small project I'd done . Didn't feel it was value for money at £15.00 if I'm honest. I think hobbycraft should consider rethinking a more comfortable environment to do their cricut workshop and definitely offer the customer the chance of trying a small project themselves. This feedback is no reflection on Hannah who talked me through the workshop. Obviously this is the way Hobbycraft as a company has decided to do things .

There were a couple of technical issues with the machine but this just gave me more confidence to persevere with my machine

My children and I had a fab time. Nicola's workshop was very well organised and included how to make a range of cards which were age appropriate in terms of technical difficulty. The children were very engaged and able to keep up and complete. They were also provided with full art kits which went beyond card making materials and which they could take home- a lovely surprise! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend.

I was disappointed as I thought we'd be making crackers from scratch. Kit was good value but needed glue and double sided tape. Glue gun not suitable. Some red and green pens and card would make it more christmassy.

The teacher Nicola was great. Very patient. Willing to answer all questions and gave a detailed talk on the circuit. Nothing was rushed and she told me what I would require as a being to get started and where to find ideas on the hobbycraft site.

The teacher was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic.
I made a wreath using all the materials supplied in the kit and some extra pink leaves that the teacher had gathered.
Lots of space was available so I didn't feel at all uncomfortable. I would recommend to a friend.

The teacher was very friendly and helpful.
The area that we did the workshop in was light and airy and plenty of space between us, keeping a good distance between each other for Covid. The box of supplies to make the wreath was very good and had a lot of items in it. Well worth the money. We had plenty of time to make the wreath. Really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.

I've attended course with my friend. We really enjoyed a class. . Lovely material provided. Lady who was teaching classes was lovely and very helpful.
Definitely will attend other classes provided by hobby craft.

Worth every penny in my opinion - I have always wanted to make my iqn Christmas wreath and never had the courage to try…. Now I think we need a new house will lots of doors so that I can make wreaths for everyone of them - thank you Hobbycraft

Fantastic, teacher was amazing, pace was great and totally relaxed for the hour. I did not realise that the glue gun was mine to take home. The materials were great and I feel I shall be making more wreaths as gifts for others. Well done Donna.

I wanted to learn brush lettering for ages and saw this workshop advertised. There was a box of pens and notebook and practice cards and the tutor sat with me and showed me how to use the pens. She was a lovely lady and was very encouraging even though I'm a complete beginner. Very good workshop!

Really enjoyed the autumn wreath making workshop today in the Swansea store. Donna the instructor was excellent and she gave a lot of help to my mum who struggles with a hand tremor. The final piece was beautiful and we will definitely be booking onto more workshops.

Carly (Swansa)was very friendly and made you feel at ease. The lesson was very informative and had the chance to recap on the maintenance, threading and how to put the thread on the bobbins. Also went through changing needles and how to change the foot. Really enjoyed and gave me more confidence when using my machine.
Would recommend to beginners. Had time to have a practice. Thank you

Keyleigh was friendly and explained each step clearly. As my eyesight is poor, I did ask for extra lighting, as the ceiling lights had not come on. Also, I realised that a pencil would have been useful. The box of cardmaking resources was excellent and Keyleigh showed me how to use each of the contents and where to obtain more items in the future. It was a positive experience.

Hi there yes i realy enjoyed the workshop, and thought that Hannah was very helpful and realy new what she was talking about .The way she explained things was very helpful and i thought that i would find it a lot easier when i tryed it myself, however by the time i got home and tryed out some of the things that looked very straightforward ,my mind went blank and i struggled .lol .I will not give up and will try and try again I do think that i will need further help in the future as it looks easier than it is .Maybe i am to old to learn as the internet side of it i do find very daunting. I do think that i would like weekly classes if they were available somwhere. Thankyou.

I enjoyed my one-to-one sewing workshop tremendously. Julie, my teacher, was wonderful, she provided me with such good instruction, and was also very friendly and easy to talk to. The time flew by as I was having so much fun, and by the end of my session - I had booked a double one - I had come a long way from the nervous, complete beginner who walked into the store. I was now a confident improver, raring to go. Julie was so impressed with me - she set me some tasks to work on! Great tuition, great valueI will definitely be going back for more sessions!
