Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

A really enjoyable and relaxing class. John was a great teacher and I’m really pleased with the 4 coasters we created using different acrylic paint pouring techniques.
The class is excellent value for money, all materials are provided (and you get to take home all leftover paint and materials, as well as your creations). I would highly recommend this class and would definitely do it again.

Jon was the most amazing teacher. Super friendly, patient and helpful.

Each person was provided with a kit (which was worth as much as the cost of the class) as well as a separate set of coasters, and bag to take the surplus home.

Jon’s instructions were really clear throughout and was really accommodating.

I’d thoroughly recommend requesting a bespoke class (they can fit up to 5 adults) if there is one you’re interested in.

Monsters. Jon was very good with my 2 grandsons. He explained each stage so they understood. There was a good variety of air clay colours to use. Both boys verdict was "It was awesome!"

This was a lovely activity for young children.

It was very well organised.

It may have been nice for the children to choose some of their own decorations (to have slightly different hats) however I can understand it’s less contentious to have exactly the same decorations for each child.

My teacher taught me to thread up and use an overlocker with and without its cutting blade. The lesson included how the threads worked as well as demonstrations on stitch width and tension adjustments. My teacher was most patient, approachable and knowledgeable. I found the tuition very worthwhile as it has given me the confidence to set up and use my overlocker at home. I would highly recommend this class.

We went to the Maidenhead store for the bead clay activity and my daughter was incredibly excited and happy with her making. It was a calming but very interactive activity. Will be looking for more to do.

Lovely facilitator, but honestly, really naff craft activity - clay "clouds" that wouldn't hold the pipe cleaners meant everything fell apart on the way home - we've done a few workshops and usually love them, but I wouldn't recommend this particular activity sadly.

I found that the lovely young lady was using a phone which I found I couldn’t see what icons she was pressing. She was telling me what she was doing but didn’t actually show me what she was pressing.
I found it very confusing. She gave me some good tips on what products and tools to use.
It was nice to know that she found it confusing at first but with practice she now knows what she is doing. I am going to practice. And hopefully will soon get the hang of it.

The class itself was great fun and the instructor was really friendly and helpful. The only downside was that there wasn't enough time to do all 3 activities and it all felt rushed. When you have youngsters they can often take their time so it would be nice to have longer so it would be more enjoyable rather than trying to rush your child through the activities.

I really enjoyed the beginners crochet class in your Maidenhead store, the class room wat just right, away from the main store so was quiet. The techer Beth, was great, very patient, going over techniques that I didn't quite pick up first time. It was a good surprise to receive a gift bag with yarn, needle and instructions.
I had a little knowledge of how to start a crochet chain, I left the class knowing how to read crochet instructions, make a square made up of double crochet stiches as well as one made up of treble crochet stiches and also learned how to make half crochet stiches. All in all, it was a fun couple of hours, well woth the money I paid for the course, I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested.

We really enjoyed our class this morning. The venue was great and had everything we needed for our craft project. Loved the glue used, think it was clear print stick, and will be buying some now as was much better than usual PVA.

My daughter thoroughly enjoyed this activity. We got there 10 minutes late and the staff were accommodating. The Teacher was helpful and friendly and the venue was perfect for the activity. I found the experience good value for money and would definitely recommend to others. As a parent, it was lovely to do some crafts and not have to tidy up all the mess at the end!

Nalda is a great teacher, very patient & explains things well. We came away knowing a lot more than we did. Naldo promised to put together some hints & tips in a note book for us which she didn't have to do, plus she said we could drop by anytime if we were stuck on a project.

So pleased with my 1-2-1 lesson today. Staff in general were lovely and friendly, Nalda the teacher was amazing! Knowledgeable, friendly and so patient, an absolute inspiration. I couldn’t wait to get home and put her teachings into practice.
It was a little frustrating at times that the teaching space is in the middle of the shop floor, other customers were asking questions even though signs were up to say private lesson in progress.

It would have been better to have the different pour types demonstrated to us - this is not the teachers fault as hobbycraft didn’t provide her equipment to demonstrate but I believe it would have helped our understanding. Overall a fun afternoon and we will hopefully have some lovely coasters from it!

Had a one to one sewing machine workshop with Susannah at Maidenhead Hobbycraft this morning. Lovely new store, so interesting. It was well worth the money paid as being shown how to work my machine is more preferable to trying to get to grips with a manual. Susannah showed me how to correctly use the bobbin and it showed that my loading of it and other things I was doing wrong. She advised me that by jusing the same good quality thread on the top cotton and the bobbin together worked better than mix and match and that there are special needles to work with different fabrics. I was shown two different type of stiches I had never tried before and I was really pleased with the results. I need a new sewing machine now as mine has now brokendown and not worth repairing. Will book another workshop when I buy one as the advice is definitely worth it. Thank you to Susannah and Naldo for all thier help.
