I really enjoyed this Brush writing for beginners class. The teacher was lovely and very encouraging. I was very lucky to be the only one signed up to this class so it was 1-2-1, which was great. We learnt basic strokes, joins and simple decorative techniques. Lovely pens and paper and lettering guides, all supplied in a reusable tote bag.

My son and me had a fabulous time creating monsters together. This is the third class by Hobbycraft we attended and always look out for more to book. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Classes are not too crowded, which is perfect for my son. Very enjoyable.

I have been taking my daughter to these workshops for the past couple of years as its a nice little activity to do that doesn't cost the earth! We have always had the same lady helping us and she is always lovely and very helpful. This time we made a spring themed canvas and the end result was beautiful! There's always plenty of materials to go round and aprons were also provided as it was quite a messy activity. I will be looking out for more in the next school holidays. Thank you!

Really friendly teacher and fun session learning how to use air clay. Only down side was the pace- it was a little fast for children and they struggled to keep up without us doing bits for them. The teacher was really good at repeating bits for them when needed though.

I was confused when I booked because the form wanted me to pick a topic out of a limited menu - none of which is what I needed (though we did spend two minutes on how to sew a button hole) my teacher (sorry, really bad at remembering names) was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to find my machine and guide me on bits I didn’t know about it. I needed help in sewing fine, lightweight material and in that she was successful. However it would have helped if the machine she chose, because it was similar to mine didn’t keep “ breaking down” Nevertheless, it was money well spent.

Wanted help with a stitch and the pattern it was in.
The teacher showed me the stitch and how it worked.
Then showed it on YouTube too.
I could have mastered the stitch from the YouTube but the teachershowed me what its used for. My pattern was wrong and not at all clear how it would work on the project I needed her to show me that the pattern was wrong (cause I thought I just didn't understand it!)
She then suggested ways in which i could finish the project. Which was very useful as the project has been hanging around for over a year because the pattern was WRONG!

I love coming to these activities. Our son is neurodiverse and doesn’t always want to do what the others are doing, like today. The teacher just went along with it, joining in with what he was creating. He had a great time and became visibly more relaxed as he realise he could do what he wanted and be encouraged to do it. We left with more supplies to carry on at home, and are now looking ahead for our Easter options. Thank you Hobbycraft for making this acceptable.

Attended yesterday with my daughter to learn how to set up and use the sewing machine she was given for Christmas. Deborah was very friendly and knowledgeable, patient and gave great advice on the use of the machine and how to use and select the different functions. What a brilliant workshop with a Cricut machine! Rachel was fabulous and guided me through so much. I didn’t know anything before I walked through the shop door. I didn’t realise that so much can be done with these machines! I had a great time and felt I learned a lot. Now I’ve got to put it into practice. It’s nice to know that I can go back into the shop if I have any questions or problems or need any advice. Rachel was amazing - so thorough and patient. I can’t fault this session. My 10 year old daughter had a crochet lesson today with Lois for her birthday. Lois was an amazing teacher and person. Very patient and kind. Having no knowledge of crocheting it was quite an achievement to learn 2 basic crochet stitches. Tutor was attentive, encouraging and explained things clearly. Before we left we read through the instructions sheets to ensure that we understood what we had been taught so we could practise at home.

Really enjoyed this class and that it was a small group. The instructor was enthusiastic and explained everything clearly. Great to learn a new craft. Just a shame it was only an hour as it felt a little rushed at the end, but maybe that was just me spending too long decorating each bauble.

This was our first workshop- and my son and I both had a really good time. I always get nervous taking my son to new activities because he has special needs, but Gisela, the teacher, immediately put me at ease. She was wonderfully patient and cheerful with all the children, and very encouraging, I really liked her. My son had a good time working with a new material. For me, it was great to learn about a material we had never used before, and get some hands on advice and instruction, and now I feel like we can do this activity at home too! I’m looking forward to booking another session soon!

It was good fun I took my grandchildren and they enjoyed making the pumpkins, time went really quick though, the only downside I’d say is the glue takes ages to dry so bit tricky carrying them home, the lady did give us a bag to put on the bottom of them so made it easier.

My first time trying crochet and I really enjoyed it. There were 3 of us in the class plus the teacher which was great as we all got individual attention as well as following her instructions as a group. The time flew by and now I need to practice I will book further classes in the future.

The machine was already set up, it would have been helpful to have seen the actual set up. The design programme was opened, but no explanation or demonstration on how to get to the page used. The demo of the laser working was good but no option to have a go myself. Paid for one hour but only took 37 mins. The trainer was lovely but I did not feel confident in what he was saying, especially when asking about cleaning and maintenance. The trainer told me wasn’t necessary - he had had the machine for over a year and not once cleaned it. This is the opposite to the Glowforge advice.

Excellent value for money with everything included and the opportunity to take the left over items home for future use. Booked this for myself and my mum and it was only us 2 and the teacher so very relaxed and lots of fun. The teacher was very personable and knowledgeable and friendly.

Really enjoyable session. We had 2 teachers ,Lois and Deborah ,for 5 of us , mostly new beginners who needed a fair amount of help. Having them both meant we could progress easily without having to wait when we needed help.They were both so friendly and helpful.
The 2 balls of chunky wool and hook were great as were printed instructions to keep.
I thoroughly recommend it , and am very pleased to have gone. Am also looking forward to trying to crochet with some of the beautiful wool in store.

I had a 1 to 1 session with Debbie at the Crawley store yesterday.
I can’t start to explain how beneficial this was to me.
I purchased a new machine just over a year ago that is so much more technical than I have ever been used to. Despite downloading the 40 page instruction booklet and watching YouTube videos I just simply could not get the hang of it. What was meant to be a fun and enjoyable hobby became a nightmare.
I saw the tutorials online and thought ‘What have I to loose.’
Debbie listened and quickly identified that I learn best from watching and doing. She understood what I wanted to achieve and focused exactly on that. By the end of the tutorial I was buzzing with confidence and felt that I knew exactly how to set up my new machine, what each of the dials were for, how to use all the special stitches on the machine and can you believe was eager to have a go at using the button hole tool.
At the end of the tutorial Debbie asked if there was anything else I needed advice on. I produce two items of clothing that I had been having difficulty with. Debbie quickly identified that my problem was that I had been using the wrong needle for the fabric. I am so excited and looking forward to spending a day trying out all the stitches and technics on my new machine. Thank you so much Debbie for such an informative and enjoyable session. Good value as was not expensive.

The problem was to find the parking space at noon on Sat it is always very busy the over the weekend.

Will be nice if there are some workshop like this during the week as children are on Easter break at school so plenty of time to join some fun

I had my first sewing machine lesson today. I am a complete beginner and had not touched a machine since my school years, but I am looking to take up a new hobby and learn a new skill. My tutor was Rachael, and we spent the session learning about my machine and its settings. The sessons are personal to you and your requirements based on your needs. Rachael was very kind, knowledgeable, and patient with me. After my hour-long session, I was able to walk away with a basic understanding and can work on improving in my spare time. Rachel approach to our varied group of kids was fantastic. She had an open mind and calm approach. She was able to to inspire us. She gave clear aims that were achievable by kids. Rachel was also fantastic at giving kids, as the workshop teacher, a few tips on how to follow the work done to further their crafts learning.

Did a crocheting class with my bestie at our local Hobbycraft today . The class was taught by Lois (who was FANTASTIC) and all the materials (wools , crochet hook and written/visual instructions) were provided . I used to crochet when I was young but hadn't done for over 40 years , the first 20 mins were tense for me as I really wasn't getting the knack back but Lois was an absolute superstar, she was so patient and helpful and even though there were three of us I felt like I was almost getting a one to one , I think we all did . By the end of the class I had learnt two stitches and was crocheting like a pro (well not a pro but you get my drift ) Anyway thank you Lois (and Hobbycraft ) seriously if you ever wanted to teach full time , you would be amazing at it because this pupil definitely learnt and achieved a lot more than I ever expected . Will be back soon as we enjoyed it so much we are going to do the macrame class (and I can replenish my crochet supplies )

Fun afternoon paint pouring. Teacher was really friendly and showed us different techniques you can use with the paint. Everything you needed was supplied. You even get a paint pouring set to take home. Definitely recommend and looking forward to having a go at home.

I enjoyed this workshop so much and the time just flew by! Lois is lovely and patient and a great teacher. Love the starter kit provided and even though the workshop is on the shop floor it is upstairs at the back so you don't feel like you are 'on show' (I was so engrossed I barely noticed anything else anyway) I have spent the whole afternoon practicing and even attempted a little worry worm with some of my own wool. I feel excited for what I can try to crochet next :)

The tutor was very helpful and took the lesson at our speed.
As part of the price of the workshop we were given a sealed box containing 2 different coloured balls of wool, a crochet hook and instructions with pictures.
We were shown how to make a slip knot, to make a chain stitch, double crochet and triple crochet. The hardest part was learning to hold the hook and the wool in each hand but I know this will come with practice.
There was only 2 students in the workshop (myself and my daughter both totally beginners) therefore I felt the experience was good value for money.

The teacher was lovely and the class was only of 4 so she had time to go round to each of us to make sure we were doing alright and answered any questions we all had . It’s so much easier to learn from someone actually physically showing you so definitely worth the money and all the equipment you need is included. Overall a really good experience and I now now how to crochet the basics which helps to understand more harder patterns.

I haven’t bought a cricut yet so the course did explain what each machine did to help me decide which one I wanted to get. When explaining functions I felt it was too fast in places. The lady did answer all the questions I had.

Small group made this more enjoyable. Temperature suddenly dropped so it was a little cool, but well lit and in a fairly quiet spot. Materials good, lovely workshop leader. Spent time practising the calligraphy skills, which didn't leave us long to attempt baubles but we got to bring kit home to continue. Very enjoyable.

I booked this for my grand daughter and her cousin, ages 5 and 4 and they loved it. They needed a little help but the tutor was very good with them. All the materials provided were just what was needed and the girls had great fun making a mess and especially loved the glitter! Great value for money. Only £6 each. Was my first experience of activitues with hobbycraft. My daughter had a great time playing around with the clay which was super airey and light. The teachers was very interactive and encouraged the creativity in the children. This was a free activity and my daughter got to take away the sea creatures she had made. Was a very good experience and will definitely look into doing more activities with hobbycraft.

This was a fantastic value for money workshop. I booked my 8 year old daughter on as we had purchased a sewing machine from hobbycraft a few months ago, and she is a complete beginner. I enrolled in a one to one cricut workshop and it was worth every penny (which was a bargain at £15). Ruby was extremely knowledgeable, personable and extremely patient with this complete novice, no question seemed to silly, she made me feel completely at ease (as this was completely out of my comfort zone).
I came away eager to get home to begin crafting. I will definitely be enrolling in future workshops as they are a great introduction into new skills.

The workshop was carried out upstairs on the first floor of the Crawley branch which was air conditioned so very comfortable especially as it was a very hot day. Lois was very professional and clearly demonstrated expertise on crocheting. She explained all the techniques involved in producing each stitch very clearly to my daughter which enabled her to get the hang of it very quickly. We were given a crocheting kit to take away with us so great value for money! Lois made the entire process from start to finish a joy and we will definitely book another workshop soon. Thank you x

What a fun experience I had at the Hobbycraft in Crawley. I attended the floral crown making session this past weekend The instructor leading this session was not only incredibly patient and inspiring, but aslo super helpful and a lot of fun to be in her class. This session was brilliantly taught, very well priced; especially for all the items you get in the kit who would have thought that 1.5 hours went by so quickly! I would totally make the visit back to this hobbycraft for another course.

I met with Ruby at the Crawley store as i was having some basic issues with the cricut joy cards & vinyl. We very quickly realised that the issue was with the blade in my machine rather than me. My one to one sewing with Deborah was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable about all the machines and being a complete novice was so patient with me. She took so much time and care making sure I was comfortable and getting everything I wanted out of the session. I will definitely be recommending her and be rebooking for more sessions once I become more experienced and want to progress. The course was great value for money. I would suggest when courses are on that another staff member is positioned upstairs, as customers would interrupt with queries which I felt was unfair on Deborah and made it awkward that or sign saying paid workshop in progress please do not disturb. However this did not affect how amazing the course was. Thank you, I was so nervous as I hadn’t done anything like this before and I have I come away feeling confident.

I really enjoyed this class and learnt so much as I have never used Infusable Ink. The teacher was so much fun and even when things didn't go according to plan she adjusted and made it work. The hobbycraft store is lovely and airy and the staff are very friendly. I enjoyed the fact we talked about other crafts too and what each of us like to do, which made me feel at ease and like I was talking to someone how understood.

The teacher was very approachable, helpful and friendly. The venue was ideal. Plenty of room at the table. All the materials provided were ample to make more than one and then to continue making at home. Considering the price of materials if I had bought them without the class I felt it was very good value for money.
My daughter learnt how to make Pom-Pom bunnies. The teacher gave lots of tips and help how to make them in different ways. My daughter really enjoyed the class and has since made loads of Pom Pom bunnies at home and is now researching other animals to make.

There was only 2 people in the class, which made it seem like a one-one class. Grace, the tutor, was patient with us both, although she didn't have the scissors out that were required, however being an ex teacher I noticed that, always be prepared!

This course was absolutely wonderful and I can’t believe how much I learnt. Deborah, my tutor, was great - very patient (she needed to be with me!), full of good tips and she explained everything really clearly.
I last knitted 60 years ago at school (squares for the Oxfam blankets) and today has given me confidence to start knitting my retirement scarf kit.

(Albeit not what I had planned to learn) I am so very grateful to her for adapting best she could under difficult circumstances. She also walked me around the store after and gave me sound advice on additional tools and products I may need. A wonderful asset to your team and company.

Difficult circumstances - although I read the email instructions clearly, to not bring my sewing machine with me, on arrival was told I needed my sewing machine to do my course. This meant I was unable to complete my hour as I should have.

I attended the Christmas Cracker Workshop with my mum and met Grace who was lovely and provided lots of guidance and support. The materials provided were really good quality and there was lots of them! Grace was an excellent teacher and very professional, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this workshop to get into the Christmas spirit which you can continue with at home.

It was just 2 of us and the Artisan who was very knowledgeable. The area for the workshop was clean and spacious. Products were good and with the Black Friday deal it was value for money, not sure if it would have been had it been full priced as only an hour.

Brilliant session run by Krystal in Crawley today.
The packs are great with lots of material and we were given plenty of tips and ideas.
Good pace, easy for us novices. Our first ever craft workshop and we can’t wait to book another with Hobbycraft. We loved it and have come away buzzing with ideas. Needless to say we won’t be buying normal crackers anymore!

I throughly enjoyed the Christmas fillable baubles workshop that I attended today with my mum and Gisela the teacher was lovely and I really am pleased with my results. I brought more in the store to make for my family as they look so lovely. The little ornaments that you get in the pack are really adorable and I now have a cat, penguin and a dog to create my own.

The class was perfect, exactly as it states! We learnt how to wind a bobbin and thread the machine. We were provided with templates which we practiced on which were perfect. The lady that held the class called Irene was so lovely and took time to listen to anything we didn't understand. I now can't wait to start sewing and purchased some lovely Christmas material in Hobbycraft. I would throughly recommend booking a session at Hobbycraft. Well worth the £5 Thank you to Irene for making us feel so welcome.

This was my second hourly Cricut class my only small negative is I would of liked to have seen the machine in action in at some point as I learn better that way but all in all value for money I am likely to book on another one.

I love taking an hour out for me. A great opportunity to learn anew skill and have a good natter to like minded people.

You work along at your own pace with the tutor on hand to support.

The materials are really good quality and for me the only thing that would have made it better would be an opportunity to purchase more items to put on your wreath.

The course was good and held at the Crawley store. I have only rated this as good, what would have made this great was if we was able to make something on the Cricut machine but unfortunately it was broken. Shannon I think her name was answered all the questions I through at her and gave detailed answers throughout the time I was with her. Value for money I thought was pretty good as its a 1 to 1 session so you don't need to worry about anyone else. Would recommend

Shannon was very knowledgeable and helpful she showed me things I did not know. I wanted to know about the use of acrylics and the engraving tool, i now know the maximum thickness of acrylic i can use.
I was able ask lots of questions about things like How do I change the paper size?
How do I drag and drop to make layers the same colour using sync?
I also said that I had trued to make a large Poppy but when I did the scoring wheel did not score very well Shannon said that I should try again but use the double scoring wheel or change the pressure alternatively try the scoring stylus.
Shannon was very helpful and nothing was too much bother.

Bought 4 lessons for my daughter to introduce her to using a sewing machine. 3 lessons in and she is doing great! The teacher has been patient and positive throughout and has structured the learning so my daughter can practice skills already taught as well as new skills each time. Such a good investment.

I wish the appointment or review request gave the teacher’s name because I’m not sure I remember correctly. Michelle, possibly. She really is an expert and was able to answer all my pretty random questions far better than anything I could find on Cricut’s own website! My daughter attended the watercolour canvas class. The pack provided was much better than we expected. The pack included penguin canvas, a blank canvas, watercolour pad, paint set, brush, pallet and mini pad. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the class. The teacher was very good at engaging with the children on the course and providing ideas and lots of positive encouragement. I wouldn't hesitate to book another class.
