When was the last time you had this much fun with your plus one? Add some extra spice to date night - replace traditional tactics, like splashing out on an expensive evening and take the pottery making couples challenge instead!
To start, you will sit opposite each other at the same wheel and each make your own pot individually with hands-on assistance from the experienced, local potter guiding your session. This is a practice throw to get you used to the clay. Your significant other can take a video of you throwing your own pot as you compete to see who can make the biggest item!
Next, you will need to work together and throw two projects on the same wheel. It’s quite the challenge, and not as easy as it sounds! Take it up a notch and throw blindfolded on the last pot. Are you game?
The potter will provide a brief demonstration, and then you will spend 1-hour shaping, forming and moulding the clay together until you are satisfied with your projects.
Once you've enjoyed your wheel-throwing experience, you can get your creations fired and glazed for an extra fee. The potter will complete the ceramic-making process for collection approximately 8 weeks later. Just check our add-ons options! The extra fee is for ALL items to be fired (not per item) so just select quantity: 1 upon checkout.
This is the perfect date night in Birmingham for couples. Also a must for special occasions, play date, or a date challenge.
Note: Your booking is private with sole occupancy of the studio - no potting about with people you've never met before! It's just you, your plus one; the potter and some mud that we sling on the pottery wheel. The price is for two people.

My Partner and I did this experience for our anniversary. We absolutely loved it, really want to do it again and 100% would recommend it to anyone who haven't done wheel throwing before.
The teacher was very warming and easy to get along with, also very laid back and relaxed which always helps when people are trying out new skills such as wheel throwing.
The workshop was easily accessible and despite it being a very cold day, the workshop was very warm and we were both able to wear t-shirts and the apron's provided.

Booked a couples class . Never done it before but our teacher was amazing , really helpful, encouraging, and explained everything so well . I would highly recommend going here . Super fun and memorable experience.
We chose this activity as our date day and we are very much delighted and happy we chose this. It was so much fun. We had a good time with our teacher. She was patient and very thoughtful. She was willing to help us or answer any of our questions . She had a plan activity and it was so nice.
We love it and would recommend this activity to all other couples who are looking for a date activity !

We really enjoyed the experience and our teacher was lovely and very helpful. We are considering another session at some point and would happily go back to the same place & teacher, even though it's a one and a half hour drive for us.
An amazing experience to do together! We both loved the extra challenges in it, and it really showed us good ways to work together! Only wish it could've been longer to allow time for mistakes as beginners to the pottery wheel. Very excited to retrieve our finished results! We have so many photos to remember the experience by as well!
Fantastic experience, I'd recommend. The instructor Angela was lovely and a really fun guide. I'd never done any pottery before and was able to make some really cool pieces. Did the experience with my partner but would be great to do with a friend as well.

We had a fantastic day and our teacher Angela was brilliant. The venue was easy to find and we had the studio all to ourselves which meant its was cosy and we had lots of fun getting clay all over each other. There was plenty of parkingtok
