ESFW opened our doors in 1986, in the tranquil Newliston Estate near Edinburgh. We have been teaching all aspects of cookery throughout this time and have won many awards, most recently the Cookery School of the Year in November 2020.
We cover a wide range of courses, covering every age and ability. Some of our most popular courses include professional chef training, leisure classes, kids' cooking classes, gin tastings, sushi nights and many more! Our classes are fun and informative, with the majority always hands-on for all students.
The team at ESFW work tirelessly to ensure that every student leaves both confident and inspired, with a passion for the food and drink that we love, whether you are with us for one day or six months.

Firstly, what a location! The setting is gorgeous! Secondly, the teacher (& his assistant!) were so lovely and down to earth. No question was too silly and they made time to answer any questions (this was probably helped by a smaller class).
The subject of piping skills was fantastic. The methods will certainly stick and I’m so impressed with my wee creations!
The nibbles & hot drinks were obviously a bit too!
Can’t wait to book more!
