In this engaging workshop, you'll have the opportunity to learn a variety of mending techniques that not only repair your clothes but also celebrate the beauty of the repair process. Throughout the session, you'll discover the art of patching using different embroidery techniques, as well as mastering the darning and sashiko stitches. How wonderful it will be to leave with a renewed sense of confidence in your ability to mend your favourite garments!

Join us at Touch of Craft, our new craft space in Ossett, for this creative experience. Throughout the class, you'll gain hands-on experience working with various fabrics as you learn the art of patching, darning, and sashiko stitching. Don't worry if you're a beginner – this workshop is designed to alleviate any fears and provide a supportive environment for learning. You'll be guided step-by-step through each technique, and our friendly instructor will be there to answer any questions you may have.

During the session, you'll have access to delightful teas, coffees, and biscuits for a small fee. If you prefer, you're welcome to bring your own beverages and snacks to enjoy during the workshop.

Travelling workshops run by Kim Searle.

All my workshops are based on encouraging sustainability, building community and supporting attendees well-being. I am passionate about ensuring craft sessions are accessible to all, providing discounts on most courses for people on low/no incomes, seeking out venues that are wheelchair accessible and ensuring that workshops are calming with more of an emphasis on enjoyment and new skills over perfection.

I also run workshops at festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man, End of the Road, Underneath the Stars, Deershed, Wychwood Cornbury, Greenbelt, Just So, Beacons, FarmFest, BeatHerder and more!

I studied BA (Hons) Textile Crafts at the University of Huddersfield, specialising in textile printing. I’ve also studied weaving, felting, bookbinding, dark room photography and fine art printing at L'Ecole des Beaux Artes at Besancon, The Academy of Design in Kuopio and Leeds University, as well as studying a range of creative techniques on a foundation course at UcCA Canterbury.
