This was a really great class. I've never done Lino Printing before, but the class is suitable for all skill levels and is taught very clearly. A great idea for presents / gift crads for others.

She was so calm, encouraging, knowledgeable and accommodating. She adapted the activity for my elderly mother in law and was so kind. We each threw three small pots and were delighted with our creations! It was so relaxing and grounding. I had the class as a birthday gift ans I love watching Pottery Throwdown on TV and the process of booking was simple. Communication with the teacher was excellent and she was so helpful when discussing disabled parking and access. I highly recommend this if you want to try throwing on the wheel. Great fun! + more

Unique experience gifts for friends and family who deserve the world
Struggling to find something for the friend or family member who insists they “don’t need anything”? That’s where Edinburgh experience days come into their own! Whether the lucky recipient is interested in cooking and cocktail making or pottery making and ceramic painting, you’ll find classes in Edinburgh from experienced teachers who are ready to pass on their knowledge. Here are a few crowd-pleasers for whoever’s on your list:
- A calligraphy workshop, from around £30 – for the bestie who's always wanted handwriting better than a doctor's.
- A life drawing class, from around £35 – ideal if your mum's been threatening to "get back into art" for the last decade.
- A blacksmithing workshop, from around £150 – gives the shed-dwellers in your life a proper reason to disappear for the afternoon.
- An Indian street food cooking workshop, from around £85 – for anyone who talks a big game about takeaway but has never made their own.
With our Edinburgh gift vouchers being so flexible, your loved one can book the class around their schedule, meaning they can make time for a new hobby whenever they need a break from the daily grind.
How to choose the right Edinburgh experience days
Not every gift needs a bow – sometimes the best gift is an excuse to get all your favourite people in a room to have a great time together. With so much choice, here's how to narrow it down without overthinking it:
- Start with what she already enjoys. If she's mentioned wanting to try something specific, that's your answer — no need to look any further.
- Check the group size before you book. Some workshops are strictly one-on-one or pairs; others take a dozen or more, so match the class to who's actually coming along.
- Think about how hands-on she wants to be. A pottery wheel taster is a proper workout for the hands; a tasting experience is far more passive, if she'd rather sit back.
- Factor in timing flexibility. A voucher lets her pick the date herself, which matters if her diary's unpredictable — a fixed booking works better if you already know when she's free.
- Match the budget to the moment. A quick taster class suits a casual gesture; a longer, multi-hour session suits something you want to make a bigger deal of.
Whatever the occasion, a voucher means they pick the exact date and class themselves – no guessing and no double-booking for the social butterflies out there.
Fun Edinburgh experiences from £17

- A beer tasting experience is a laid-back gift for the beer curious, from around £25. Learn to actually taste what you're drinking, guided by someone who knows their hops from their malts.
- An enamelling workshop teaches a properly different technique, from around £40. Make your own colourful jewellery piece with this ancient craft, ideal for jewellery-making first-timers.
- A bao bun making workshop is a hands-on foodie session built for groups, from around £40. Steam and fold your own bao buns from scratch, then eat the evidence!
- A seafood cooking class highlights the best of Scottish ingredients, from around £85. Learn to cook delicious local seafood several different ways in one sitting – a good pick for a food-obsessed friend.
- A silversmithing workshop is a wonderful investment, from around £145. Learn traditional techniques to forge your own silver bangle, ring or pendant, ready to wear for life.
