Janome MC500e Computerised Embroidery

Bring your own embroidery designs, or download them from the Internet to use on the Janome MC500E Embroidery machine. Bring your own stabiliser and threads, or buy only what you need in the studio. We have stabilisers for knit and woven fabrics, plus water soluble for Free-Standing-Lace.
There is a variety of embroidery hoops, including easy to use magnetic hoops, one large enough for edge-to-edge quilting.

The Social Sewing Club is like the sewing and quilting “bees” of the past, but with modern top-of-the-line equipment. (Did someone say automatic buttonholes?!)
This is when I open up the Stitch Lounge Studio to anyone who wants to come and sew with friends, old and new. You can use any of my machines, all my gadgets, my cutting table, irons, etc. You can do some research in my extensive sewing library. Most of all, you have company while you work.
Come to get advice on tricky projects or browse the extensive stitch-themed library. You can book to come to the studio and use whatever machines are available, or let me know ahead of time if you have a specific need. The cutting table, dressing room, irons, and the camaraderie are always included.
I don’t teach during the club, since I will be working on something myself, but I am always happy to help with a bit of “up-skilling”. (I do expect you to have beginner machine-sewing skills to take part. If between us, we decide you need more dedicated teaching time, we can discuss signing you up for a class.)
As well as all the above equipment, at Stitch Lounge you’ll find the Janome DM7200 or DM6100 computerised sewing machines, each with a variety of one-step buttonholes and monogramming capabilities on the DM7200. Also available are the adjustable-height cutting table, the steam-generator iron, and a needle felting machine.
Book into a Social Sewing Club session to see what it’s all about. Tea, coffee, and biscuits are provided. Social Sewing Club costs £10 per visit, plus the cost of any materials you use. There’s no charge for thread, and you only pay for things like interfacing and elastic that you use.
What you'll get
Enjoy up to 4 hours of dedicated sewing time in a fully-equipped studio.
Knowledge required
You should have beginner-level machine-sewing skills.
What to bring

I'm Alison Tonï, I’m a Quiltmaker – and I love to teach!
StitchLounge.Scot is my sewing room, and a classroom. I want it to be a gathering place for people who sew, and who want to learn to sew.
StitchLounge’s vibe is “Social Sewing”, it’s a place to work at your own pace, on the projects of your choice, while enjoying the company of others who love to sew. Book into a Social Sewing Club session to see what it’s all about.
I have been sewing since I was 10 years old, and I have been teaching formally since 2012. I offer courses in Patchwork & Quilting, Sewing Survival Skills and Absolute Beginner Sewing Workshops, and Bag Making and Garment Sewing. I also teach kids to sew! Whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced stitcher, there’s a session to suit you.
I believe that making something is the most powerful way to express ourselves. I want to help you find your craft, and your creative space. My teaching philosophy is project based, we will focus on enjoying the process and having something to show for your efforts. My goal is to foster your creativity through hands-on learning.
