They both learned how to thread the machine, wind a bobbin, change the stitch and make straight seams. They learned how to pin a pattern, cut and pin the fabric before sewing. They were happy with the choice of fabrics and both found a print they liked. Everything was demonstrated and well explained and help provided when necessary. Both left the class with a completed cushion and eager to practice their new skills at home.

The Edinburgh Sewcial Club first opened its doors in 2014 teaching garment making, sewing machine skills, pattern cutting, embroidery and other textiles crafts to people of all ages, levels of ability and experience in evening and weekend workshops and courses in Meadowbank, Edinburgh.Our relaxing, fun, social classes are a great way to try something new and learn a practical craft and skill! Now, as well as dressmaking and sewing there are also a number of other textile crafts taught, beading, embroidery, upcycling & mending even fleece mermaid tail blankets!
