What you'll do
Looking for a new hobby or just some relaxing things to do in Brighton? Come along to this sewing class for all abilities and begin your creative journey!
Whether you're a serial sewer or a total novice, this sewing class is flexible for you and your needs. Complete a beginner project like a cushion or a bag or use the class time to get a helping hand on something you've been working on or would like to start.
At the Sew In Brighton Sewing School, you'll be guided by a friendly expert teacher who with offer guidance and helpful techniques as well as imparting their top tips and tricks.
Options of what to make in this sewing class:
- Learn how to use a sewing machine and make a beginner’s project (a tote bag or a 40cm square cushion) — please bring your own materials or buy materials on the day for £8 - £12.
- Get help fitting a pattern — this sewing school specialises in ‘tissue fitting’ to get a great fit before cutting the pattern in fabric. Bring your own pattern or buy some great basic designs in class. Once you get the fit right on this first garment you have the options to create variations with our help. You'll have the opportunity to become your own fashion designer!
- Or we can help you along with any other sewing or dressmaking project
By the end of this fun and friendly sewing class, you'll have completed or furthered a project of your choice with the help of a talented textile teacher. You'll head home with your creation, but that's not all you'll also have some new skills under your belt too.
Please note:
- For beginners making a cushion or bag, please allow three hours for the full experience, the teacher will stay up to 30 mins after the class so that you can complete your project.
- Included is a free last-minute drop-in to a Stitch! General Sewing and Clothes Making Class when there is space on the day. This can be used to finish off anything not quite completed in your booked session(s) or to start a new project
