What you'll do

In this workshop, you will learn the art of hand embroidery and create your very own lavender bag to take home. No experience? No worries! This class is designed for beginners, and our warm and uplifting atmosphere will alleviate any fears you may have.

During this workshop, our experienced instructor will guide you through the step-by-step process of hand embroidering a beautiful floral design onto fabric. You will learn essential techniques, such as working with a embroidery hoop, a back stitch, chain stitch and how to sew fabric together, creating the bag with a blanket stitch.

We will provide all the materials you need, including embroidery threads, needles, fabric and organic dried lavender. As you immerse yourself in this creative activity, you may feel a sense of calmness and relaxation, allowing your creativity to flow.

By the end of the workshop, you will have a completed hand-embroidered lavender bag filled with fragrant dried lavender. This transformative experience will leave you with a unique and lovely creation that you can proudly display or gift to someone special.

Hi, I'm Stephie! I have a background in arts, crafts and product design, studying textile design at Chelsea College of Art and Design, haute couture embroidery at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and traditional crafts in Romania. I founded StephieAnn in 2014, personalising products with hand and machine embroidery. Since then, I've hand embroidered over 5000 socks, 1000 pyjamas and 500 sleep masks for customers in the UK and worldwide. In January 2023 I moved into my beautiful Hove shop and studio. I love holding fun classes in the space, teaching hand embroidery workshops, helping others create beautiful keepsakes and meeting fellow crafters!
