What you'll do

In this engaging workshop, you will learn the art of hand embroidery and create a set of beautiful linen napkins to take home. This class is perfect for beginners, so don't worry if you've never picked up a needle and thread before – we'll guide you through every step of the process.

You will be introduced to a variety of embroidery techniques, including the basic stitches as well as decorative stitches such as lazy daisies and bullion knots. Our talented instructor will demonstrate and explain each technique, ensuring that you feel comfortable and confident as you begin your embroidery journey.

The napkins are embroidered with four unique designs created by Stephie and inspired by British afternoon tea. The fun motifs include a cupcake, cucumber sandwich, teacup and jam jar.

During the class, we will embroider the cucumber sandwich learning all stitches featured in the kit. If time, we will move onto the other designs with all materials and detailed instructions being provided for you to complete the set at home.

Hand embroidery is a relaxing, calmful skill, perfect for unwinding in the evening. This craft class is great for those wanting to learn a new skill as well as developing existing techniques, birthday parties, gifts for mother and daughters and hen-do's.

Beginners welcome, Stephie can lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it. Some embroidery experience is welcome.

What you'll get

Four cotton linen napkins, plus all embroidery threads, materials and tools. Instructions and extra thread to be provided to take home.

Hi, I'm Stephie! I have a background in arts, crafts and product design, studying textile design at Chelsea College of Art and Design, haute couture embroidery at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and traditional crafts in Romania. I founded StephieAnn in 2014, personalising products with hand and machine embroidery. Since then, I've hand embroidered over 5000 socks, 1000 pyjamas and 500 sleep masks for customers in the UK and worldwide. In January 2023 I moved into my beautiful Hove shop and studio. I love holding fun classes in the space, teaching hand embroidery workshops, helping others create beautiful keepsakes and meeting fellow crafters!
