Join Janice from Nourished by Nature and learn to create amazingly delicious and nutritious ferments at this hands-on class in Glasgow.

Fermented foods have been around for thousands of years, with examples like sauerkraut having the kind of good bacteria we need, lactobacillus — the sumo wrestlers of the bacterial world!

You'll start by taste-testing some delicious krauts before rolling up your sleeves to make your personal favourite to take home. All you need is a cabbage, salt, a glass jar and a little patience for the microbes to work their magic.

Don't worry if it's your first attempt at fermentation, as Janet is an expert on gut health, with over 10 years of experience and plenty of secrets to share. With her help, you'll learn about correct salt ratios, equipment, safe fermenting, maturation times and everything else you need to confidently create sauerkraut at home.

At the end of this workshop, you'll have a host of fun new skills to develop and your homemade sauerkraut, with more live probiotics in a tablespoon than in a whole bottle of probiotic capsules!

When we first opened Soul Food Kitchen, our aim was to create a wellness hub, a place where people interested in holistic health could gather, for workshops and talks, and other social events.

We aimed to create a safe space for like-minded souls to come together, not only for delicious healthy food, but to be part of a community. A community through which we motivate and inspire each other every day to live healthier and more holistic lives. A community where time and consideration are given to all aspects of health, not just the food we eat, but mindset, spirituality, a sense of purpose and community.
