Jewellery Making Class - Wax Carve a Silver Ring

Looking for creative activities in Glasgow with huge rewards but are super easy for beginners? Then this ring-making class focused on wax carving is exactly what you need!

Wax carving is a silversmithing technique used to mould and craft pieces of jewellery in a cheap and forgiving material. This is a great way to test ideas before moving on to the metal. In this jewellery-making class, you will give it a go yourself!

Guided by a supportive and friendly teacher from Vanilla Ink, you will learn how to sculpt and carve jewellery wax, learn about the casting process and make a ring that can be then cast in silver. Your wax will then be sent off to be cast in silver and sent to you, ready to wear and treasure!

Not only can you be proud of your amazing ring-making skills, but you'll also be helping out with Vanilla Ink's Social Enterprise Programme. Please note:

• Students must be 16+ years.
• Good eyesight and hand dexterity are a must.

• All equipment and materials needed.
• Your own space with access to all the tools required to create your ring.
• An amazing experience plus your beautiful new ring which will drop through your door in a matter of weeks!

• Closed-toe shoes.
• Keep loose-fitting clothing to a minimum.
• Long hair tied up (or bring something to do so).
• If you need glasses to see things close up, please bring them with you. Making jewellery is fiddly!
