Christian has been a chef for nearly 20 years and has worked at the best local establishments including two restaurants with Michelin stars. He has also worked on a cruise ship, a 50m sailing ship and a ‘small’ 125m luxury mega yacht.
In February 2017 Christian set up SALT Cø as a private chef and chocolatier after having enough of cooking ‘other people’s food’, and hasn’t looked back since. Christian is super passionate about what he does and ‘never’ (regularly) states how much he loves his job.
Born in 1983 to an English mother and Norwegian father, Christian is very proud and passionate about his heritage and incorporates this into his cooking where he can. His parents moved to Lincoln when he was 3 ½ which was where he grew up and went to school, taking regular holidays to both France and to Norway in all seasons. Christian also went to a sailing school for a year in Norway as well as completing national service in the Norwegian Navy in 2002.
A relatively late starter in the hospitality world, Christian decided upon a life in the professional kitchen at the age of 22 when he was walking home one day and came upon the thought that “Chefs get all the girls” and “everyone loves someone who can cook”. Whether the first bit is true, a gentleman never tells. But it does seem that most people like someone who can cook.
