What you'll do

You're invited to make your own unique macramé dress out of recycled cotton in the colour and length of your choice.

Macramé is a creative and relaxing craft, which is also a great way of relieving stress. Your tutor, Aggy from Knots and Stalks, will teach you how to measure and knot your own beautiful string dress which you can enjoy throughout summer holidays or at various events.

This workshop is beginner-friendly, but it is suggested that you attend one of the half-day macramé workshops beforehand, such as macramé earrings or plant hangers, to learn and perfect the basic knots, so that you are more confident when you approach your dress.

This workshop is a great opportunity to learn a relaxing and creative new hobby. Come along and make the perfect new wardrobe piece which you can wear with pride this summer.

The workshop is suitable for beginners, but to ensure your dress turns out seamlessly, you are advised to attend a short macramé earrings or plant hanger workshop to get familiar with the knots.

Aggy Rucin is a macramé tutor and a sound therapist using both of these techniques to help her clients learn new skills, develop introspection and self-esteem, and enter therapeutic brain waves and meditative states. From stimulating macramé workshops to relaxing sound baths she covers a spectrum of activities incorporating the use of herbal medicine, tarot cards and practices such as sharing circles.

For her macramé pieces, Aggy uses recycled cotton cord produced with no toxic dyes, minimum CO2 and water use and sourced from a small scale producer.
