Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Beginners crochet class, I am a competent knitter but have never attempted crochet. Our tutor was lovely, really helpful and patient. Materials were fine, lots of wool to continue our practice with. I learned basics of crochet, how to make a chain and do double and treble crochet stitch. The class was good value for money and because it was small we all had as much help as we needed and we're able to chat all things craft so a nice social occasion too.

Lady was very nice and friendly. Son enjoyed it. The lady at the entrance wasn't so welcoming. I asked when the workshop was and she looked at me as though I should have known and then pointed. However the workshop was great and we would definitely go again.

We really enjoyed this class. We were given wool and crochet hook and instructions to take home. We learnt chain stitch, double and treble crochet. Our teacher was very patient with us and explained everything well. A great afternoon!

Got everything out of the workshop that I wanted. The teacher listened to what I wanted to learn to be able to complete a knitted baby jacket I learnt how to put the item together and what stitch to use to sew it together. I also learnt how to pick up stitches. Overall the teacher was good at listening to what I needed from the class and checked along the way that I was happy with my work. I was also supplied with clips to hold the work together. Very good value for a one to one class which included a few items I needed to make things easier

I did the introduction to crochet qith my 11 year old daughter. We loved it! The bag of yarn and hook was lovely and the teacher was so patient and encouraging. We came away really enthused and feeling much more confident about taking on some crochet projects.

Becky was really helpful - and very patient with my clumsy attempts to get even the basic stitches right.
I had chunky wool and a large crochet hook plus notes on what I’d been taught. I thought it was very good value for money.

Was a very productive session, I booked a 1-1 session, but due to lack of communication the lady wasn't aware I was a beginner until I got there, but she quickly gathered the things I needed and was patient with me. Was instore with a table on the shop floor which led to comments from passers by. This wasn’t an issue as I was concentrating on the crochet. Learnt chain, double & treble stitches.

I wanted to have a run through of a machine to confirm my thoughts it was right for my usage. Very nice lady, Beverley got the store machine out but start of the session was delayed whilst she hunted cables, bobbin holder. The 'workshop' was held in the middle of the store so the session was interrupted a couple of times by customer questions and unfortunately it coincided with a cold snap of weather so it was cold on the hands - not helpful for threading bobbins/needles!
I felt a bit short changed having paid for an hours one to one session but having done a lot of sewing in the past it covered what I needed - no criticism on Beverley's knowledge and shared some helpful tips but I think the Chichester store could improve their setup.

Ellie was very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. She explained lots of things as we went through the course and gave me lots of little tips which will be very useful as a first time Cricut user. The venue was good - even though we were on the shop floor it still felt a personal experience. I brought a maker 3 on Saturday, it is now Monday and I havnt stopped using it. So many decals to make. I have also subscribed to the design studio as much more choice available. It’s great to know that I can do other courses on Cricut and they will always be catered to my needs and wants. I love the Chichester branch and always feel at home in there.

Good teacher Ellie, lettering was good, the children(5 years old and 9 years old) liked being in the centre of the shop, and everyone commented on their work. Customers and members of staff a like. Lots of variety of paint to use and felt tips for the keyring. The children liked going around the shop picking their resources for th activity.

I had booked a crochet problem solving session. The pattern is a hobbycraft artisan christmas stocking pattern. I started it two years ago gave up but last november i was determined to make the stocking. Despite the help of two experienced crochet friends i have not been able to make the stocking.
Both the ladies tried very hard to make sense of the pattern too. Whilst one continued with the crochet, her colleague contacted head office to find where the artisan worked then phoned the store to ask for help. The store is lovely however customers continued to ask the staff running my one to one for advice- it needed to be more private or a sign to say workshop in progress. Whilst i’m not any further forward with finishing my project, i feel confident that with the staff’s help i will be able to make the stocking.

Such a simple yet effective use of pipe cleaners, clay and beads. My daughter had a great time threading her multicoloured rainbow. The instructions were clear and easy to follow meaning she could work independently. Ellie was a super teacher and it really helped that she made a model at the same time to help everyone understand the steps. Super value for money and it inspired us to make our own at home. My daughter is so proud of her rainbow that she even took it in to school today to show her teacher and friends.

Ellie at the Chichester branch was great. Interacted and encouraged my two girls (5&8) the whole way through the Hama beads class. Once finished, they were even given packs to take home. Great value for money. Nice and easy.

Our children really enjoyed the session, but were done in 20 mins. The bag full of paints ment that they could have continued but we were told that the wet painting had to be taken away with us. Had we known prior to starting we would have chosen the box frames as their practice work, because it would have been much easier to transport home.
I would definitely recommend but suggest taking a larg tray or plastic box to carry work home undamaged.

There was a good range of art materials to use but limited guidance from the teacher.
The location of the workshop was right in the middle of the shop which was fine as it was fairly quiet in store but may have been problematic if busier.

I took my 10 year old grand daughter with me and the teaching was directed through her. I have just bought a new machine so learnt all the basics again plus many new things too. The hour went very quickly and my grand daughter loved it and now wants to start to make a few simple things with me so we will have lots of fun together going forward. I went to learn to crochet, the lady who taught me was absolutely lovely, she was calm and patient and I learnt a lot. I got a starter kit which was lovely. I arrived early which wasn’t a problem and we divided straight in. I didn’t catch me tutors name but she was brilliant! Calmly explained how to use not only the Cricut but helped me step by step to understand the software too.
I wish I’d known my lady’s name ( she lives in Selsey) as she filled me with great confidence, that I went home and made labels for my jars and a few other things too
I’d definitely go back for more 1 to 1 classes.

Friendly, well informed member of staff who put me at my ease. I had plenty of time to discuss areas for development. I was shown how to do things I was unsure of. I was then talked through the processes as I did them for myself.
I was able to ask further questions and try out various stitches for myself. The time flew by but I came away feeling that I could tackle skills with the help of an instructive manual.
I received hints relevant to my chosen project.

Ellie was such a good teacher at my cricut workshop.
She was really friendly. She totally listened to what help I needed.
Nothing was too much trouble for her.
She explained everything in such good detail, supplying me with lots of knowledge and ideas.
I cam away feeling much more confident with my machine.
I could not recommend Ellie enough, she was an absolute superstar in helping me.

Such a great time I had with the one to one class. The teacher is very knowledgeable and she gives me confidence with what I want to make. I did engraving for the first time, and it was so enjoyable with the cricut maker. I made a key ring for my grandson's birthday, and I am thrilled. Also designed a mug with infusion ink pens, and put in mug press. I learned a few things that I didn't know, with the help of the teacher. The venue isn't too far and there is parking right outside the door. The only thing I didn't like was the infusion vinyl, as it is far too hard to weed without part of the design breaking. I would not be purchasing any and the class taught me that. However, a great class and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I was so impressed with the workshop for this infusable ink tutorial. I learned so much and the tutor was so friendly, patient and understanding. This is the first class I have taken in any Hobbycraft and due to having such a great lesson, I am inspired to take more. I can't thank the lovely lady who took the class and I look forward to using the infusion pens and coasters with my heat press tape all of which I purchased from the fabulous selection in the Chichester Store.

Lovely relaxed session with the lovely Ellie in Chichester. The only issue was that the shop and was really cold on the day. Perhaps consider a windbreak as we were directly in line with the doors that kept opening on one of the coldest days of the year? Also, it would be great if there was a hot drink available!

The teacher was helpful and friendly.
The venue was cold (in line with doors of shop so cold air came straight through to us) but good amount of space and not in the way of other shoppers.

Yes the workshop was good value for money.
Letter shapes and a few Christmassy designs learnt and how to best hold/position the bauble as doing the lettering on a sphere is trickier than on flat paper.
The atmosphere and helpfulness/ friendliness of the teacher were what I liked most.

Brilliant lesson with Ellie. She explained everything so well. Ellie explained all about the different materials and settings on the machine. How things would look on my laptop and how to log on and save my ideas She started the sample off for me and then encouraged me to have a go at weeding and placing transfer tape on and placing the finished vinyl. Ive gained a lot more confidence and feel excited to use my cricut Joy. It was a very relaxed lesson for a complete beginner. Thank you Ellie 5*lesson.

We absolutely loved the craft session. Ellie was lovely and welcoming and my children throughly enjoyed decorating their animals. It was so nice to be able to sit with them and help them and have quality time together. The area was lovely and clean and they loved choosing their animal from the shelf. I took my grandson who loves arts and crafts. He enjoyed the activities which were pitched at the right level for him and it allowed him to the opportunity to improvise. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The leader worked well with the group, repeated instructions and demos to ensure they understood. She also circulated to ensure that they got one one one help. The idea of having colouring sheets as fillers was really good. All in all well worth the cost. Sam had 3 creatures to add to his collection.

This was my daughter’s favourite part of our action packed day! Thank you for another fun crowd pleaser. I must say though, I was a bit shocked when I walked in early and the session had already started. It would have been good to receive a little instruction or examples of what they could achieve. That could just be the adult in me as every child there used their imagination to the full. Also, a lot of new resources arrived throughout the activity which was great as the masks got more and more creative. Next time it might be better to have them all ready so that the participants can plan ahead a little more. Thank you for offering my small something to do. That was certainly above and beyond and I left with two happy girls!

What a great experience! We had an abundance of coloured clay which was a wonderful resource (definitely going to stock up for rainy day crafts). My 4yo and 1yo could both interact and create their own interpretations of sea creatures but there were also instructions for making a whole host of animals. It was a really positive, relaxed workshop from start to finish - the teacher allowed us to be as creative and imaginative as the clay would allow. Thank you!

The teacher explained things clearly. However, as she said it would be easier to have seen how it works on a laptop rather than an IPad.
An environmental comment would be that the lighting precluded seeing the screen clearly. Also the background music was a little distracting.
Hopefully we will be able to begin using the cricut to our benefit soon.

The store colleague who I spent the hour session with was friendly and down to earth. We had a good chat about different functions of the Cricut machine and she showed me how to design a greeting card which is what I wanted to know how to do. We also talked through different Cricut projects and how they can be achieved. The store was not busy so it was easy to chat and discuss projects. The session was value for money and I would recommend to anyone who has a particular project in mind or who is just starting out using Cricut.

The resources were suitable for the activity although I had thought there might be more choices available. I wasn’t expecting to leave with a goodie bag - this was a welcome surprise - but I would have preferred a well stocked in house trolley rather than limited take-home items. My daughter is very proud of her crown and we’re excited to wear them at the weekend.

I was only person on workshop so had wonderful one- to-one tuition from Cathie, who was infinitely patient with me, a complete novice.
Given workshop box containing everything needed apart from scissors - 5 different colourful balls of yarn, crochet hook, sewing needles and instructions/pattern plus canvas bag to put it all in.
Before ended Cathie made sure that I knew how to continue on my own and would be able to finish project.
Thoroughly enjoyed workshop and would recommend to others.

Unfortunately no one was prepared for our arrival despite the Sewing Worksop being booked in January 22.
Linda was only told when we got there. It wasn't her fault, setting up the machine took 3 members of staff. After the initial delay my niece did end up learning some hints and tips about using the sewing machine but also in how to make our particular project.
I was disappointed with the lack of preparation by Hobbycraft and felt I paid for a more structured workshop.

Very enjoyable Christmas Wreath making workshop. Becky was an excellent teacher good company and very knowledgeable. Plenty of quality materials provided. Will certainly be booking other workshops at this venue.

My daughter and I attended the Cricut workshop to learn which machine it would be best to purchase to make her Wedding Stationery and associated Wedding gifts.
Karen gave us an excellent demonstration of the various Cricut machines and explained their different capabilities.
She answered all our questions and queries and even took time to chat through the products needed to make the stationery and crafts we had in mind.
Thank you and we look forward to purchasing a Cricut Maker 3, learning to use it and having many hours of happy crafting.

We came to Chichester Hobbycraft to do the paint your own workshop as our nearest Hobbycraft had limited spaces. The young lady that led the session ( think her name was Fran) was amazing with the 3 children, friendly, chatty & attentive to their needs. Highly recommend the workshop.
