Furniture Painting Workshop (levels 1 and 2)

I'd love to welcome you to this one-day (10am to 3pm) 'Furniture Painting' workshop in the relaxed and friendly environment of the lovely Cheadle Village Hall in Stockport.

I have recently combined my Level 1 & 2 painting workshops into one single day, so you will learn many more advanced techniques in addition to the more standard methods during the day, including preparation and protection, painting, distressing, crackling, stencilling, waxing, blending, dry brushing, and glazing (including some invaluable tricks of the trade).

During the workshop, you will learn how to upcycle, refresh, modernise, and skilfully transform a piece of your tired and dated furniture while making some new like-minded friends in a relaxed, supportive, and lovely environment.

You will bring a piece of furniture that you'd like to transform into a beautiful, elegant piece to match your home décor.

I will teach you about different paints from the leading brands on the market, brushes, tools, wood preparation, and final protection, and you will learn a variety of lovely effects and techniques. You will be able to experiment with different paints, colours, brushes, and techniques on a techniques board (provided and which you will be able to take home with you). I will be there every step of the way to guide you through each stage, provide advice, and discuss your ideas and favourite styles and techniques for a creative result.

With such a small group, there is plenty of time for one-to-one discussion and to answer all of your questions. Full workshop notes on techniques, paints, products, and where to buy will be provided.

Having taught the workshops for the past five years, my attendees have reported they don't just leave with a new and exciting upcycling skill, but they say they have enjoyed a lovely day out from their busy lives and pressures (with lots of chats, laughs, coffee, and cake!), they have met some lovely new friends, and have been inspired to continue painting at home on their own projects. All tools, paints, and materials are provided and are included in the price.

The price includes lovely homemade cakes, cream scones, tea, and coffee throughout the day.

Parking is available free of charge at the venue (I will provide a map and directions).

Please come in comfortable clothing and ideally an apron (not essential) and comfortable shoes.
