  • 5/5 from Linda Sulley, attended Apr 2026: Imogen was knowledgeable about crochet and explained very clearly the steps of the project we received when we arrived. We started with basics stitches (3 in all) using the balls of wool and crochet hook that were supplied. We were all learning how to crochet a sample and everyone was very supportive of each other. We found it fun and enjoyable. I did pickup tips to use in the future. I received this crochet class as a birthday gift from a lovely friend and I found booking online easy. Thanks Imogen

The teacher was very good and very patient. It was one to one so the atmosphere was ok. I liked the one to one instruction because it meant you weren’t hanging around waiting on everyone to catch up.
  • 5/5 from Susan Smith, attended Mar 2026: Just completed the Introduction to Crotchet class and it was excellent. • 3/5 from Valerie Lyall, attended Jan 2026: I kindly received a gift card for a voucher for a class from a friend. It was a little while before any suitable classes were available but got booked in for a Crochet class in January and found the booking process straight forward. I thereafter attended a class at Hobbycraft Dundee. We all received a tote bag with the essentials for beginners crocheting which was nice. The instructor was very helpful and patient. The class all found it quite difficult to pick up the basics - through no fault of the instructor - I think it was just trickier than we had perhaps expected. Perhaps some basic videos in advance of the class may have helped. The main problem was the class was held in store and we were interrupted on several occasions by members of the public asking our instructor for assistance. Our instructor was so polite and friendly they did try to assist but these interruptions were time consuming and distracting. Perhaps a separate area or a sign advising class in progress - DO NOT DISTURB!! - could have helped. Overall it was an enjoybale experience and I look forward to learning more and progressing my skills. The main
  • 5/5 from Wendy Macfarlane, attended Nov 2025: I started with zero knowledge, Imogen was encouraging, talked me through my mistakes and inspired me as to how I could take this to the next level in time. I was amazed at how much I got done in the time. Will definitely do more of these.
  • 5/5 from Fetina Williams, attended Oct 2025: It was fantastic! My daughter kept crocheting all the way home and didn't stop for hours. Imogen was so helpful and informative. We highly recommend this workshop.
  • 5/5 from Kathleen Coull, attended Sep 2025: Found this class very useful. Was the only participant so got undivided attention! Apologies but I have forgotten the name of the tutor but they explained stitches clearly, gave tips on how to hold wool and hook and repeated how to do things when not sure. Spotted if I made a mistake and told me where I was going wrong so could get it right! They made me feel comfortable and I came away feeling more confident about trying crocheting.
  • 5/5 from Norma Munnoch, attended Sep 2025: I was lucky and got a one to one session. I made a square using different stitches and was able to ask lots of questions.
  • 5/5 from Rebcca Dolan, attended Aug 2025: Imogen was really a good and patient. I enjoyed the workshop and feel that I have the basics to start me off. Would thoroughly recommend.

  • 5/5 from Sheila McGilvray, attended Mar 2025: Really enjoyed the session, Imogen was great, explaining the basic skills and demonstrating everything. Imogen has a great sense of humour and lots of patience for providing a great teaching session. Definitely recommended, many thanks.
  • 5/5 from Lesley Stephen, attended Jan 2025: We booked a beginners crochet class - a group of 5 with varying levels of craft skills. Imogen our teacher was amazingly patient and they supported us through the different stitches. Some of us took to it better than others but Imogen’s care and attention was amazing. We will be back!!!
  • 5/5 from Avril Brittten, attended Jan 2025: the teacher imogen was really calm and patient with us all. He gave personal attention to anyone who was struggling and made sure they understood before moving on to something else with them. He also asked if there was anything we wanted to know or be shown within the subject. As a complete beginner, i have now come away knowing how to do several stitches, knowing the correct pins to use for the wool ply, turn corners in my crochet work and how to change colours neatly. A great class for beginners and those who already know a little bit.
  • 5/5 from Charlene Mitchell, attended Oct 2024: I wanted to learn crochet so of I went, Lots of patience with myself easy going chatty, learnt a double crochet and treble and how to join to colours of wool I received a hobby craft bag crochet hook and 2 balls of beautiful wool I loved how the teacher had lots of patience
  • 5/5 from Karen Pilling, attended Oct 2024: I took this class to learn the basics of crochet. The class was in the middle of the hobbycraft store. We were given 2 balls of yarn, a crochet hook and a bag. Imogen was very friendly, and patient. Class was slow enough to grasp the basic stitches and get lots of practise of each one. I liked that there were only 4 in the class so Imogen was able to check on each of us in turn and help with any problems. I thought this was good value and would love to do another one.
  • 5/5 from Louisa Smith, attended Oct 2024: The class was excellent and Imogen was a fantastic teacher. I have learned the basic stitches and feel confident that I can practice further on my own. Would recommend this class highly!

  • 5/5 from Brenda Kerr, attended Sep 2024: Imogen was very knowledgeable and patient. It was a fun experience, no stress and if we made mistakes which we all did, we were treated with kindness and were calmly shown where we had gone wrong. As beginners we all came away knowing that if we continued to practice at home the stitches we were taught that we would succeed and enjoy crocheting. I look forward to improving. Would recommend to anyone wanting to take up this hobby.

Venue was good although being in the middle of the store could be a bit distracting. Materials provided were OK. Good value for money. I liked the size of the class - there were only 3 of us and I felt had there been more you could easily have got lost. Overall good value and good fun.
