Needle Felting Workshop

Discover the calming art of needle felting in Edinburgh and watch soft, fluffy wool gradually take shape as your very own handmade keepsake.You'll start with the basics: getting to know your felting needle, foam mat and a soft, colourful wool, before learning how to gently and repeatedly poke the fibres to bind them together. It's a slow, satisfying process – the kind of repetitive, low-pressure craft that lets your mind switch off and your hands do the work – and your friendly teacher will be on hand throughout to guide you through shaping, adding detail and building up texture as your design comes to life.There's a project to suit you, too:

• A 3D hanging decoration, sculpted from the wool into a little three-dimensional character or shape
• A flat felt coaster, built up layer by layer for a design you'll use again and again

Whichever you choose, you're free to let your imagination lead – from sweet animals and blooming flowers to a completely original idea of your own.
