  • 5/5 from Christine, attended Feb 2026: Birthday treat for my grandaughter. Teacher was very good. Precise and patient. Venue and materials supplied good. Learnt basics of crochet which I had not previously been able to master. Good to be in a group which made the class more sociable.
  • 5/5 from Kathryn Northcott, attended Jan 2026: Booked just for fun, and as no others booked on was lucky to get 1-1 session with Flint. Had tried to learn via Internet in the past but always seemed confusing. So much easier with Flint's very patient and clear teaching. Came away with 2 lovely balls of yarn and crochet hook in a tote, and knowledge of a few basic stitches. Now need to practice!! Would recommend for any complete beginner!
  • 5/5 from Janet Williams, attended Dec 2025: The teacher was brilliant - very welcoming and patient. Learn a variety of crochet stitches that give a great basis moving forward. Handy tips given by teacher throughout. Cannot fault the actual teacher. Purchasing the gift card was straight forward but actually booking the date of the class was frustrating as dates given were not possible and difficult when you are trying to book a date for a group of people. It would be easier to have a calendar of dates available rather than having to go back and forth with different dates.
  • 5/5 from Christine, attended Dec 2025: I attended a crochet class (in person) which was excellent. The tutor was very knowledgeable and very lovely. Trying to book on to the class was unecesarily difficult though and I lost faith that the class would be any good. I'm glad that wasn't the case. I left the class able to crochet which was a win! Thank-you to Chris @Truro Hobbycraft, for your patience and fab tuition.
  • 5/5 from Jacqui Smith, attended Aug 2025: Fabulous workshop with Chris. Very enjoyable and she was so patient. Highly recommended!

  • 5/5 from Donna Bennett, attended Jun 2025: wow, Wow, W O W! Amazing. As a complete beginner, I bought a book, watched a couple of online clips and ending up with knots not crochet, I decided to give a quick course a go. I genuinely went thinking I would walk away with a bit of a better understanding - I was wrong, I walked away feeling positively amazed and proud of the new skill I have learnt! The tutor, Flint, was brilliant. No question was silly. He explained everything with a demo, patience and clarity. He gave some incredible hints and tips and really went above and beyond. I am empowered and enthusiastic to get to work on a project and develop my skillset with crochet. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn crochet.

  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Oct 2024: I attended the beginner's workshop to help me build some confidence in crocheting. I had learnt how to do crochet squares online but wanted to take on a bigger project and this workshop was just what I needed to help me take that first step to getting started. The teacher was incredibly helpful. explaining each stitch well with clear demonstrations and supporting us the whole way through. I was even able to take the book with crochet project I wanted to try with me and we broke down how to understand the instructions and how I should get started. It was a great workshop for getting started and building confidence with nice materials provided too. Overall a really positive experience!

  • 5/5 from Kayleigh, attended Aug 2024: I bought a beginners crochet class session for me and my mum to attend for her birthday gift. We had previously attempted to teach ourselves how to crochet but couldn't quite understand. We had a great session in the Hobbycraft at Truro with the teacher, Chris. She was very friendly and helpful and it was great to have a full session with 3 other attendees (5 of us in total). The materials provided were excellent and it was nice to receive two balls of yarn so we could attempt colour changing. Chris was patient and made the session very fun. We learnt how to double crochet, triple crochet and then change colour. I feel like the class was extremely good value for money and it was very beneficial to have a teacher. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and would recommend it to everyone! At the end of the session, Chris asked everyone what their crochet goals were and I said that mine were to crochet a daisy granny square to make a blanket. After learning the basics from this class, that evening, I was able to crochet my first daisy granny square! Very exciting!

It was a small group which was good because I could see if the range of abilities between attendees was too vast we might not have got very far. I didn't expect to leave with a hook and wool so that was great to practice with afterwards.
