How can we help?
Q: Is there parking?
Yes, there is free parking around Hewlett House, but don’t rely on parking being available, as spaces fill up quickly. There is paid parking in Battersea Park and Battersea Power Station and on Sunday free parking in the surrounding streets and roads.
Q: Is there an age limit for the watchmaking taster day?
No, but it depends on the attention span of the young person. If they are not into taking things apart to see how they work, then maybe this isn't for them. If they do like taking things apart to fuel their curiosity, then they would love it. I don't have a specific age limit, because it depends from young person to person If you are not sure, just drop me a message.
Q: Is this suitable for complete beginners to horology?
Definitely! The watchmaking taster day has been designed to cater for complete beginners to those that have tinkered with watches before.
Q: Do I need to bring anything on the day?
Just a packed lunch. All the tools and equipment you will use are provided Tea and coffee are also provided.
Q: Can I bring my own tools?
If you have your own tweezers, loupe and/or screwdriver set you prefer to use, then you are welcome to bring them.
Q: Do I take anything home with me at the end of the day?
You will have access to the 170 page Powerpoint presentation used during the class and a comprehensive tools list and the option to buy the same watch movement that was worked on in the class, as well as gaining a greater understanding of how a mechanical watch works and the experience of breathing life into an inanimate object.
Q: Can I cancel or re-book a date that I have booked?
Yes, you just need to give at least 14 days notice before the booked date. No problem at all if you need to be refunded, change the date, or if your not sure of which new date you want, you can choose at anytime; just let me know.
Q: Can I buy the watchmaking taster day as a gift voucher as a gift to someone?
Certainly, You can either pick a watchmaking taster day date and have a PDF gift voucher emailed to you, or you can buy a gift voucher for any amount and it can be redeemed against any classes within ClassBento, including mine depending on availability at the time of redeeming the voucher
Q: Can I take home the watch movement I have been working on in the taster day?
Yes. At the end of the watchmaking taster day you will have the opportunity to buy the movement for an extra £45 if you choose to.
