Arrive & Settle In

Everything's set up and waiting for you. Grab a drink (or bring your own), meet the group, and relax. No prep, no stress, no need to have a clue what you're doing.

Pick your piece

Pick Your Piece

Mugs, bowls, plates, you choose when you arrive. Your teacher helps you pick something that suits the style you're going for.

Paint, chat, flow

Paint, Chat, Flow

A full palette, stencils if you want them, and a patient teacher beside you throughout. Small group sizes mean actual attention — not just a demo and good luck.

Worth the wait.

Worth the Wait

I glaze and fire your piece and comes home with you after 2-4 weeks. Something handmade, personal, and better than anything you'd find in a shop.

Pick up a brush. Make something you'll actually keep. Edinburgh's favourite pottery painting night, perfect for day outs, birthdays, date nights & hen dos.
Two hours, a blank ceramic, and zero pressure. This Edinburgh pottery painting workshop is the kind of afternoon you'll still be talking about when the piece is sitting on your shelf.
Choose your canvas from a curated selection of handmade ceramics: a mug, a plate, a cup, or a jewellery dish. One piece is included in your session price and if inspiration strikes halfway through, extra pieces are available to add on.
No experience needed, no artistic confidence required. The atmosphere is relaxed and social, the materials are all sorted, and the only goal is to enjoy making something with your hands for a couple of hours. Make your own piece of art.
What you'll take home: a glazed, fired, fully finished ceramic. Uniquely yours, ready to use or display. Your piece will be professionally glazed and kiln-fired, then ready to collect in 2-4 weeks. Worth the wait.

  • 5/5 from Katherine M, attended Mar 2026: Had such a lovely time painting pottery! Charlotte made me feel relaxed and comfortable, and the studio was really cosy and well laid out. We were shown a selection of items to pick from. I picked a lovely jewellery dish! I had a few ideas for designs and chatted these through with Charlotte and decided to go with a Mediterranean feel. We spent around an hour painting our dishes, with lots of colours to choose from. Once finished painting, our pieces were put in the kiln for setting and Charlotte arranged for them to be sent to our homes or picked up from the studio afterwards. All in all, i had a great time and would recommend the class to others!

Hi, I'm Charlotte, clay-obsessed, self-taught, and six years deep into a love affair with ceramics! I fell into ceramics during the pandemic and never looked back (my hands have never been the same, in the best way).
There's nothing quite like the moment a wobbly lump of clay turns into something real on a pottery wheel. It's messy, meditative, and ridiculously fun, which is exactly why my wheel throwing classes make such a brilliant date night idea in Edinburgh. Trade the usual dinner-and-a-movie for clay under your nails, a few giggles, and a one-of-a-kind creation to take home (bonus points if it's a little wonky).
I taught pottery classes in Porto before swapping it for Edinburgh, where I've just opened my new ceramics studio. Whether you're booking a romantic date night, a fun activity with friends, or a solo creative escape, I'll guide you through beginner-friendly wheel throwing in a relaxed, no-pressure space.
