Join this sea glass jewellery making workshop in Portobello, Edinburgh and experience all the joy of hands-on making at the local Joy Revival Design studio. It's a wonderful, feel-good opportunity to switch off, explore your artistic side, and craft something truly one-of-a-kind.
You'll work with beautiful sea glass collected from the Scottish coastline to create two unique pieces of custom jewellery. If you have your own special beach finds from your travels, you're more than welcome to bring them along to use too!
Don't worry if you've never tried crafting jewellery before – this experience is completely low-pressure and made for beginners. Your friendly teacher, Caroline, will guide you through every step of the process. You'll have plenty of time to play with your design ideas, try out specialist equipment, and get completely comfortable using the tools to bring your unique vision to life.
What you'll create:
  • One pendant necklace – Design a beautiful custom piece to wear every day.
  • One pair of earrings – Or craft an extra necklace if you prefer.
What you'll learn:
  • Drilling and wire wrapping techniques – Master the core skills to shape your designs.
  • How to prepare and clean sea glass – Get your coastal treasures looking their absolute best.
  • Assembly using jewellery tools – Learn how to connect and finish your pieces like a pro.

  • Wire – Choose from classic brass, warm copper, or sleek silver.
  • Cord – Natural hemp available in a lovely range of colours.
  • Earring hooks – Hypoallergenic stainless steel or brass options.
  • Hoops – Elegant gold-plated or durable stainless steel.
By the end of this uplifting workshop, you'll have experienced a wonderful creative awakening, leaving you with an exciting new skill and the inspiration to keep making at home. You'll head away with your two handmade jewellery keepsakes, ready to show off your personal style.
