Ready to tackle that pile of clothes that aren't quite right or need a repair? Whether you want to fix a garment, alter a skirt, or transform a dress into a top or cover up a stain, Jen will teach you the skills to bring new life to your wardrobe.
Each course will depend on what you and others in the group bring to upcycle! This class is a friendly, relaxed environment in which you'll learn how to repair or upcycle not only your own garments but pick up hints and tricks from what others are working on too.
You'll gain essential sewing knowledge and practical tips to build your confidence in transforming old garments into new!
*Please note: This venue is accessed by stairs and has no lift.*
What you'll get
All of the materials and tools you need to upcycle or repair your garments.
Knowledge required
Suitable for complete beginners and those returning to sewing who need a refresher.
If you've never used a sewing machine before or would like a refresher, please add the option to arrive 30 minutes earlier for an introduction to using the machines!
What to bring
Ideas & tips on what to bring:
  • Garments with stains or holes
  • Garments with ripped seams
  • Garments that you want to change the fit of
  • Garments that you want to change the shape of
  • Any other garments that need to be repaired/changed for you to get better use out of them!

This class series runs over 4 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.

Out Of The Blue Abbeymount Studios, Easter Road, Edinburgh EH7 5AN, Scotland

The Studio is well serviced by lots of bus routes: 1, 4, 5, 19, 26, 34, 35, 44, 45, 113, 124, X5, X6, X7. A small car park is available. Abbeymount is an old Victorian building and the studio is accessed by stairs.
