What you'll do
In this tufting class, you will learn all the ins and outs of punch needle art. Discover the art of using different punch needle tools and materials to create stunning artwork. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to explore their creative side.
During the class, you will have the opportunity to make your own punch needle artwork using a wide variety of colours and textures. Start off with a practice session, where you'll get to experiment with four different types of punch needle tools and three different types of fabric. This hands-on experience will allow you to become a pro at the technique while working on different materials.
Don't worry if you're new to punch needle art - this class is designed to alleviate any fears or worries. Our experienced instructor will guide you every step of the way, ensuring that you feel comfortable and confident in your abilities. You'll be amazed at how quickly you pick up the technique and start creating beautiful pieces.
The class will run in a friendly and supportive environment where you can immerse yourself in the world of punch needle art. You'll have access to a wide range of tools and materials, allowing you to fully explore your creativity and create unique artworks that reflect your personal style.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have a finished piece of punch needle artwork to take home. All my workshops are based on encouraging sustainability, building community and supporting attendees well-being. I am passionate about ensuring craft sessions are accessible to all, providing discounts on most courses for people on low/no incomes, seeking out venues that are wheelchair accessible and ensuring that workshops are calming with more of an emphasis on enjoyment and new skills over perfection.
I also run workshops at festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man, End of the Road, Underneath the Stars, Deershed, Wychwood Cornbury, Greenbelt, Just So, Beacons, FarmFest, BeatHerder and more!
I studied BA (Hons) Textile Crafts at the University of Huddersfield, specialising in textile printing. I’ve also studied weaving, felting, bookbinding, dark room photography and fine art printing at L'Ecole des Beaux Artes at Besancon, The Academy of Design in Kuopio and Leeds University, as well as studying a range of creative techniques on a foundation course at UcCA Canterbury.
