Unguided Free Flow Painting Workshop

Free flow painting session in Chelsea London – no instructor, all materials included

2 hours

Class size 1 to 25 (public classes), 8 to 70

£18 - £20 (£18 for Weekdays; £20 for Weekend. £18 per class surcharge applies for private classes)

Grab a brush and let loose in this relaxed, unguided painting session in Chelsea, where the canvas is entirely yours to fill. There's no instructor here – just a creative space, all the materials you need, and as much time as you like to paint your way.
You'll have up to two hours of studio time to get stuck in, with everything provided: acrylic paints, brushes, palette knives, pencils and an apron to keep you mess-free. Choose your surface – a standard or X-large canvas, or a 23cm bear painted with brushes – and take inspiration from the artwork filling the studio, or simply paint whatever's on your mind.
This is a low-pressure, self-led session made for first-timers and seasoned painters alike, whether you come with friends or fly solo. Settle in with something from the full bar – coffee, soft drinks, wine, beer or cocktails – and grab a pizza or snack while you paint, making it as social or as switch-off-and-focus as you'd like.
By the end, you'll walk away with a one-of-a-kind piece that's entirely your own, plus a genuinely feel-good couple of hours spent creating at your own pace.
Important to know:
  • This is an unguided session (no instructor)
  • Duration: up to 2 hours
  • Children are welcome with adult supervision (children must not be left unattended)
  • Pouring paint on bears is not permitted during Free Flow sessions — please book a fluid bear workshop for this
  • We aim to maintain a respectful and enjoyable environment for everyone. Please treat staff with respect and drink responsibly. Entry may be refused if someone is highly intoxicated.

  • 5/5 from Nastya, attended Oct 2026: Great, relaxed place to paint and catch up with friends. The wine is nice too!
  • 5/5 from Fiona Kiely, attended Oct 2026: Would recommend and will come back again sometime
  • 1/5 from Hani Law, attended Oct 2026: Booked for Monday and turned up that it is closed.
  • 5/5 from Ambreen, attended Sep 2026: It was a freeflow session so it wasn't an actual lesson, however the teacher was extremely helpful with giving tips when we came up to her with questions which helped improve my painting. They are very friendly people and I would definitely recommend this place!
  • 3/5 from Maria Elekes, attended Sep 2026: We very liked the atmosphere, we had all the equipment needed. However, when I booked the classes through bento, I pre-ordered a pizza and a bottle of Rioja. When we arrived at the venue in Chelsea, we were told that there is no pizza and we will get refunded, and the wine was different what we ordered. (Which was no issue at all, it was very taste and also a Spanish wine!) As we booked a free flow class, there was no teacher. We just spent our time painting and sipping the wine. The staff were friendly but not very proactive. Overall we had a good experience so we would recommend the class/place in Chelsea. It just needs to be specified which locations offer which services/options.
  • 5/5 from Susan Daniel, attended Aug 2026: We could paint anything we liked and en Ben though our session did not include a teacher she gave feedback back anyway. The staff were lovley as well as other patrons who chatted with us and shared their knowledge and ideas, and we were able to look at all the amazing art others had done in the basement. All in all it was a lovley way to spend a couple of hours.Very relaxing.

Overall very happy to have come to this place. Totally recommended!!!

Would definetely recommend that you take a train to the venue as there is minimal parking nearby and the available options are ridiculously expensive. However, it was a worthwhile experience and I would visit again.

Art Play London

4.8 (3,277)

Art Play London was founded by Silva Castellani in 2018, starting in galleries such as Phillips, and pop up venues around London.
Art Play is now a new art studio which opened in East London in February 2022, where children and adults of all ages are free to release their imaginations and inner creativity.
Art Play has a strong focus and the environment and aims to educate children and adults on their environmental impact through art, using a variety of sustainable mediums and materials.
Art Play is part of the worldwide Precious Plastic community which means it will be a plastic collection point for people to drop off their HDPE plastic which would otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean. The plastic is then shredding and melted and turned into useful objects and pieces of art, such as plant pots and coasters.
