What you'll do
This workshop is running by Anna Billany who is an artist of Mossroom bookshop residency.This 2.5 hour workshop will go into a mix of bindery and printing techniques where you will come out with a uniquely design designed book! This workshop is accessible to all levels, but a basic knowledge of lino printing might be preferable. You will be able to choose the colour of your cover, design the print and choose the thread for binding, putting it all together into a A5 size book which could be a journal, sketchbook or whatever you wish it to be. All materials will be provided but if you desire a certain colour of paper or thread then feel free to bring your own. These books can be made either portrait or landscape depending on preference. Stab stitch is a traditional Japanese technique of bindery which can be done in many methods to create intricate patterns, similar to embroidery. Through the workshop I will teach these different stitching patterns and participants will be able to choose which ever one they favour. We hope to see you soon :-)*Attendees might need to come and collect their final journal least a day after due to lino printing ink is drying not so fast.
