What you'll do
Discover the magic of silver clay in this hands-on jewellery workshop in Edinburgh, where you'll learn how to craft a stunning pendant from a material that feels like clay but becomes solid sterling silver. Silver clay is a soft, malleable medium made from recycled silver particles and a binder, allowing you to shape, texture, and mould your designs by hand with total ease.During this creative session, you'll use cutters to form your unique pendant and set sparkling cubic zirconia gems to add a touch of shimmer. You'll be guided through every step of the process:
- Create your shaped pendant – Use specialized cutters to form your base design.
- Add cubic zirconia gems – Personalise your piece with some eye-catching sparkle.
- Fire your piece – Use a blowtorch to transform the clay into solid metal.
- Sand and polish – Refine your work until it reaches a professional, high-shine finish.
- Add a sterling silver chain – Complete your necklace with a 16" chain so it’s ready to wear.

Hi I’m Amy and I am a textile artist and all round crafter. I set up The Edinburgh Craft Club from my studio in, you guessed it, Edinburgh, after graduating with a degree in textile design from Duncan Of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Scotland.When I say craft I don’t want it to conjure up the chintzy image of your granny's knitted toilet roll cover. My aim is to reclaim craft to be modern, relevant and even cool! Since 2018 I have taught over 4000 people in my colourful classes for novice crafters. So whether you want a new skill under your belt or a creative evening out with friends, we have a range of fun workshops to suit all abilities.I also make my own range of beautiful craft kits to be enjoyed at home. I design each kit from start to finish and have lots of experience in creating and writing projects that are easy to follow and complete. I am passionate about creating colourful craft projects and you'll never find me happier than when I'm in my studio coming up with new ideas.We are based at We Make Edinburgh, a workshop and studio space in the heart of the city.
