2.5 hours Class size 1 to 10     label £85

In this exciting Silver clay class, you will have the opportunity learn the art of silver clay and discover the magical transformation of a humble lump of silver clay into a stunning piece of silver jewellery that you can proudly wear and treasure..
The silver metal clay workshop is suitable for absolute beginners or people with some prior experience who may wish to develop and build upon skills you already have.

The skills learnt during the day are how to use the different tools to work the silver clay, and mould and it into your desired shape.  In addition, to this students will learn how to cut out different shapes form the silver once rolled to the desired thickness along with adding different textures.

During the day you will learn how to use the silver clay to make a necklace pendent of your own choice. The pendent can be shaped, left plain, or texturised and can even include a crystal set into your final piece. Once finished the silver clay will be torch fired before being polished to a high shine finish.

The course is very interactive and continued support is offered throughout the day, whilst at the same time allowing students to work independently.

The course runs for 2.5 hours but on occasions can slightly over run to enable students to complete the project they are working on.

Hi my name is Carol. I started my jewellery journey at the tender age of 13, learning how to make beaded jewellery, before moving onto wire wrapping and eventually silversmithing.

I had spent many years teaching before deciding to open my very own jewellery academy, where I could teach the jewellery subject areas I wanted to teach.

In 2019, I finally took the plunge and La Jade Jewellery Academy was created, allowing me to teach what once started as my hobby and later turned into my passion..

La Jade Jewellery Academy currently runs courses in various locations across Reading and Merseyside.
