Simple Silver Ring Making Class

Learn to make a simple yet stunning sterling silver ring.

2 hours Class size 1 to 10     label £60

If you are interested in learning how to make your own simple sterling silver ring, along with learning basic silversmithing skills then this is the workshop for you. The simple silver ring making class is suitable for absolute beginners to people with some prior experience, who may wish to build upon the skills they already have.

During the class, you will make a practice ring out of copper, before making the ring of your choice out of sterling silver.

Time permitting, additional silver can be purchased to make more rings at a cost of £15.00 per ring.

The skills you will learn during the course are how to measure your finger to cut the correct size copper and sterling silver metal. Students will also learn how to anneal and shape the different metals into the desired ring shape, along with learning how to saw, solder and cure the metals, before finishing with buffing and polishing them to a high shine finish.

This course is very interactive and continued support is offered throughout the length of the course, whilst at the same time allowing students to work independently.

The class runs for 2 hours, but on the odd occasion can slightly overrun to enable students to complete the piece of jewellery they are working on.

Hi my name is Carol. I started my jewellery journey at the tender age of 13, learning how to make beaded jewellery, before moving onto wire wrapping and eventually silversmithing.

I had spent many years teaching before deciding to open my very own jewellery academy, where I could teach the jewellery subject areas I wanted to teach.

In 2019, I finally took the plunge and La Jade Jewellery Academy was created, allowing me to teach what once started as my hobby and later turned into my passion..

La Jade Jewellery Academy currently runs courses in various locations across Reading and Merseyside.
