What you'll do
Combine the charm of found objects with jewellery making at this fabulous Aberdeenshire ring making class! Guided by your qualified teacher, learn the fundamentals of jewellery making and walk away with your very own DIY ring made from sea glass.
Over five hours, learn how to choose the best sea glass for your design, make a bespoke setting and then create a ring for it all to sit on. You'll then set the sea glass and finish it.
Use your own found sea glass or choose from some pieces we'll have ready for you in the workshop. Your resourceful teachers from Vanilla Ink have collected some sea glass from all over Banff Beach.
If this is your first time giving ring making a go, you've come to the right place! This is a fun and beginner-friendly activity full of top tips and guidance from your supportive teacher. While the class is a bit intensive, the satisfaction of crafting your own ring will be well worth it. Your amazing teacher will always be on hand to help you at every step. Plus it's very creatively satisfying!
Return home from this ring making class proud of your handiwork and yourself! All profits from Vanilla Ink's classes are put back into their Social Enterprise Programmes which allow them to help out vulnerable, disadvantaged and/or deserving people by giving them the opportunity that would otherwise not be available to them.
There will be a half-hour break for lunch.

What to bring
- Your own sea glass (optional) -- please ensure it is no more than 2cm x 2cm
- Sketchbook or something for taking notes
- Closed-toe shoes
- Keep loose-fitting clothing to a minimum
- Long hair tied up (or bring something to do so)
- If you need glasses to see things close up, please bring them with you, jewellery making is fiddly!
