  • 5/5 from Sarah Ritchie, attended Jul 2026: This was a great class. The teacher (can’t remember her name) had a lot of patience with us all and both explained and showed us what to do. Would highly recommend
  • 5/5 from Charmaine Wilson, attended Jul 2026: I thoroughly enjoyed the crochet beginners class. Our tutorial was lovely, knowledgeable and took the time to go round the class, showing us the different techniques.
  • 4/5 from Andrea, attended Jul 2026: It was something different bought as a gift as they wanted to learn how to crochet. Good class set at the back of the shop upstairs where it was nice and quiet. 5 people in the class which made it easy to question the teacher but also allowed you to go at your own pace.
  • 5/5 from Claire Caskie, attended May 2026: I really enjoyed the session with Alison and I definitely improved on my current crochet skills. It was nice having a small class of three and the bigger wool and hooks helped too. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and would recommend to anyone who has picked up a crochet hook before but can't get past a chain :-)
  • 5/5 from Paula Baxter, attended Apr 2026: Thoroughly enjoyed this session. Very hands on and experienced teacher. Would recommend to anyone who wants to learn the basics.
  • 5/5 from Emma Singer, attended Apr 2026: Small class meant there was time for the teacher (Alison I think) to come round to us individually to see how we were getting on. Being a complete beginner to anything like this I did find it difficult, but go away and practice and you'll soon get it!
  • 5/5 from Pam Thomson, attended Apr 2026: A very good class with an engaging tutor. I enjoyed it a lot and thought it was excellent value for money.
  • 5/5 from Maureen Lord, attended Apr 2026: Very enjoyable, class was well structured. Alison was patient, and very knowledgeable, willing to help. Demonstrated each technique clearly ensuring everyone could follow at their own pace. Would highly recommend as I have tried two previous classes not at Hobbycraft and definitely not as good.

  • 4/5 from Kath Hancock, attended Jan 2026: The course was well presented, the supplies and written instructions were very good. The young instructor gave group instructions and went round and help us all as individuals. I really enjoyed the crochet class for beginners learning basic chain, double Stitch and triple stitch. However the downside was there was little heating and although a heater was found it didn't work. Apparently new heaters are being put in on Monday. I will look out for the next class.

  • 5/5 from Sophie, attended May 2025: I really really enjoyed the workshop. It was way more in depth than other learning methods like videos etc. I have come away with core crotchet skills I can use for life. It was at an accurate beginner level (perfect for me or anyone new to crochet.) Class was at a lovely pace and not rushed or overwhelming. Teacher was so lovely, very friendly and great at constructive criticism. I was able to ask questions. She was very knowledgeable and able to help when I got stuck. The kit provided is very good. The wool is great quality as well as crochet hook. Thank you Hobbycraft!

  • 5/5 from Jacqui Todd, attended Dec 2024: Absolutely fabulous. We had Susan teach us some basic crochet and she was so good. Really patient and kind. She clearly knows her stuff but didn't make us feel silly while we muddled through her instructions and took the time to show us where we were going wrong and how to fix it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to start out crocheting! I'm hooked!
  • 5/5 from Kathryn Kinnear, attended Dec 2024: Teacher was very knowledgeable and patient! Great introduction to crochet, will definitely book onto another class.
  • 4/5 from Linda Moar, attended Dec 2024: 1/ For my great great niece Christmas. 2/ Yarn information on the label. Slip knot, Chain stitch, Double crochet, Treble crochet. 3/ Good 4/ Good 5/ Learn a new craft.
  • 4/5 from Lynda McPetrie, attended Nov 2024: The class was good but I felt it was too short to learn so many stitches in 90 minutes. It would have been better to start the stitches earlier on as there was a lot of chat at the start and the class was rather rushed at the end with only the 2 people that already have done crochet learning everything. Disappointed that we didn't all get to learn everything as advertised and would need to so another class.
  • 2/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Nov 2024: Need to make it clearer at time of booking that adult needs to stay with child Quite hard to follow the instructions given Didn't really enjoy the experience Might try another class at some point

  • 5/5 from Olive Watt, attended Oct 2024: I got this class for my granddaughter not realising it was for adults. Susan, who was taking the class, said it was ok as long as I stayed and profound a chair for me. She was extremely patient and very supportive and she was easily understood. My 13 year old granddaughter was delighted that she learned to crochet some stitches and was keen to get home to practise. I thought it was very good value for money and a great experience. I would certainly recommend your workshops.
  • 3/5 from Sisi Leon, attended Oct 2024: It is very nice that this place offers this classes. Everything was nice and the bad that they provide you contain 2 wools, instructions and a crochet tool. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the were no a clear project to make and that left me with the disappointment to not bring anything to my hous.

Also very good value for money as we got to take away a goodie bag with yarn, a crochet hook and instructions.
  • 3/5 from Mairi Gauld, attended Apr 2024: The teacher was very pleasant & friendly. As an absolute beginner I think there was too much information to take in at once though.
