For a cuppa or a beer, nothing beats drinking out of a bespoke mug, personally crafted by your own hands! Make your custom vessel in this unique and fun pottery-making experience with Pottymouth Workshop.

Talented ceramicists Naomi Stokes and Meredith Mason will come to you. Get your hands dirty with clay! Get to grips with the basics of pinch-potting to make a ceramic mug with support from start to finish.

No prior experience with handmade pottery is required, as all the tips and tricks you need will be provided on the day. There will be some useful demonstrations to help build your confidence, then you'll be left to flex your new skills as you sculpt, slip, score and add decorations, leaving you with a personal mug.

What to expect:

  • Learn the fundamentals of pinch pottery.
  • Make your own beer mug with the help of professional ceramicists.
  • Collect your mugs 2-4 weeks later after they've been fired and glazed.

Your finished item will be left with your hosts who will fire and glaze your work. You will be contacted to collect your mugs from your host within two to four weeks.

As we are pop up we can come to you and curate your ideal custom pottery experience! If you have a specific venue in mind please make sure your workshop space fits these requirements:
  • Consent from the venue to hold a pottery class at their space
  • Must be able to comfortably seat all participants. Workshops usually require 2 places per person.
  • Sturdy tables is a must, ideally with no gaps or groves (ie picnic benches will require a solid table cover).
  • Easily cleanable flooring is preferable (wooden or tile). Carpeted flooring will require a covering (dust sheets or cardboard).
  • Tables must be booked for sufficient time to set up and pack down, an hour on each side will usually suffice.
  • Venues must have suitable lighting, many hospitality venues will have dimmed lighting during evenings. Can temporary lighting be sourced?
  • Tables situated in walkways/ near doors may have lots of traffic moving past and may not be suitable.Must be quiet enough to teach a session.

If you don't have a venue or space in mind we can always find one for you catered specifically to your dream pottery party experience!
