We’re a Leeds-based studio offering rug tufting workshops and commissions. Coming from a background completely unrelated to crafts, we discovered our passion for tufting and established Huffletuft in 2022. Rug tufting is a fun and incredibly rewarding craft, and we wanted to provide a space where anyone could come to experience it. Many of our customers have told us they find it to be very therapeutic and a great stress reliever – and the best part is, you get to take home your own handmade rug at the end!
We love teaching others and seeing all the beautiful rugs you create in our studio. Tufting is a highly versatile art, and you can make a wide variety of items at our workshop, from small accessories to large decorative pieces.
Please note that for group bookings, you can book different items for the same session – just go to the different item pages and choose the same start time, then book the items separately.

Decided to book a small group in to do the beginner rug tufting workshop. The teacher explained everything very well. The venue was easy to find. The class was really good value for money to get the opportunity to try out a new craft. All of the mini rugs the group made turned out really well. Highly recommend. Would do again.

Just wanted to try rug tufting as we always wanted to do it. Was very interesting on how much is involved in the whole process. We learned quite alot in regards to how we stitch the canvas and why we do it a certain way, to properly shave/trim it down. Alex our teacher was very patient with us and answered all of our questions.
The materials we had was really good. One of my friends had an issue with one type of wool but that was sorted without incident.
The venue itself id say isnt disabled user friendly as there's alot of stairs (really steep) but we managed. Think if the rooms were bigger and more accessible then more people would be willing to join. But i quite liked the small room as it felt more private.
I loved the whole process and it was very therapeutic. Would absolutely reccomend. If there was one more local to us (wakefield area) then i think more would come

Rug tufting was really fun and easy to get the hang of - Alex was a very good teacher and explained everything you needed to know. There was a great choice of yarn colours and the studio atmosphere was very relaxed so it was easy to just get on and do. A great introduction to tufting for beginners.

Three generations attendedmum, son and granddaughter and we all had a great time. A very enjoyable and reasonably priced day out. Take a packed lunch and lots to drink, it's thirsty work.

We went as a group of four and it was such a fun and memorable activity to do with friends! Alex was very patient and helpful, and it was quite easy to get a hang of tufting with his instructions. There were a lot of different colour yarns to choose from which helped us create the rugs we had in mind. Thanks Alex!

We had an amazing time doing our class. Huffletuft were so accommodating when booking our session. We had a very specific day and time in mind and they were able to put a session on for us to meet our demands. Communication before the session was easy via their Facebook page. I sent over the images we were basing out designs on and got some good advice about some aspects of them before we even started. When we arrived, the session was organised and the canvases with the designs already drawn on were out ready to go. Whilst choosing my colours it was clear there wasn't enough of one of the colours I needed so during the session a member of the Huffletuft team went out and got some more so I didn't have to compromise on colour. We had great support throughout without it being too much and overbearing. The atmosphere was relaxed and calm. Overall, we had a fab afternoon and will definitely be back!

Alex was a great teacher, he explained and demonstrated the tools and processes clearly and then let me get on with it, popping up with helpful tips and yarn detangling as needed throughout the day. The technique is pretty easy to get the hang of once you get going. All the materials were provided and lots of choice was available. I didn't send through an image in advance which made the start of the workshop slower as Alex had to transfer an image while I waited. The venue is easy to find using sat nav. There was no onsite parking and other local carparks were already full by 10am on a week day. I parked at Cardigan Fields about a 12 minutes walk away. I was at the studio for around 9 hours in total for my large rug, making the course great value for money, however I was exhausted at the end and found it quite physically taxing! Trimming the rug was more difficult and I created some pretty uneven bits, so I would consider paying the extra money for Alex to do it for me if I was going again. I'm absolutely thrilled with what I achieved as a beginner though!

Me and my partner love to try new things and we absolutely loved it. It was fun, creative and therapeutic. The venue was slightly cold and we could have done with some music, however we would definitely go again and use all the skills we have learnt to attempt a more challenging design.

My daughter and I learnt to tuft and had great fun making coasters.
Alex was fab, he was very friendly and gave clear instructions on how to use the equipment, nothing was too much trouble.
There was a great selection of yarn colours to use. I loved the process and came home with two lovely coasters.

BRILLIANT!
Me and my 2 friends enjoyed this class very much, Alex was a great teacher, extremely helpful and even provided us with cups of tea!
Would highly recommend for a fun day out or a birthday surprise (which is why we went)

Alex was great! We found the venue easily and were well catered for throughout the session. Alex took good care of our group of 6, clearly demonstrating and showing us how to tuft, then assisting and advising as we did it ourselves. Materials and equipment were great, and we all love our mini rugs!
