Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Maria was great! Love the paint pouring process. Wish we had just a smidge more time (30 mins). Would’ve given 5/5 but there was no soap to wash up properly - and it was a little messy! Otherwise, very enjoyable. Would recommend.

Val taught crochet! She was extremely patient, moved around the table to see each of us when we had issues, answered all questions in an easy to understand way! Went above and beyond when I had out stayed the 2 hour car park, took my details to hopefully sort out! Will come back to do 1-2-1 session when I’ve got better!

I attended the beginners crochet class today. I learnt the basics and it is has inspired me to practice and learn more.
The teacher was extremely helpful and patient and showed us what to do very clearly- great for a beginner like me.
The venue was the store Hobbycraft in Tun Wells and we had a quiet, comfortable corner to ourselves.
The class was very good value for money and I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
I liked the teacher very much and will seek out her tuition again.

We took our grandchildren aged 3 & 5 to the Clay Monster workshop. It was run by Tia at the Tunbridge Wells branch, she was brilliant with the children and demonstrated what could be done with all the items available. We'd never seen the type of clay provided but will certainly be buying some more for future use. The children went home with their 'monsters' after a thoroughly enjoyable workshop.

My knitting one to one workshop was everything I expected. Very friendly and helpful. It was a tricky problem with the pattern I was using but just talking it through and deciding how to tackle the casting off and keeping the pattern correct was very useful and I feel I can now go ahead with my project

My 7 yo daughter enjoyed this class. It was great having a huge selection of paints (far more than we have at home) and brushes. However different paints is all we got. The photos suggest we would get gems, pens, glitter etc to decorate but this was not the case.

We had a great time with the sewing lesson. Val was so helpful, patient and friendly. This is the first experience of a sewing machine for my daughter and the class was just what we needed. I would definitely recommend and it’s great to know there are people at Hobbycraft who have experience they can share. We’d definitely come back for other lessons or tips when needed.

Val was lovely and made Erica (aged 11 and brand new to using a sewing machine) feel at ease right away.
She explained everything very clearly and got Erica having a go almost immediately, so she was learning and growing in confidence right away.
Erica loved the experience and can't wait to get going on her own machine which was the same model as the one in the workshop.
Val offered to help anytime if Erica has any issues with her home sewing.
Great value for money too. Highly recommended.

Kayleigh was a great tutor for learning about Cricut Joy as a complete beginner. She went through how it works, software to connect to and we completed two projects, a card and an iron on make up bag. We looked at all options of using the Joy and look forward to having a go an home! Tunbridge Wells Hobbycraft was a great location as it was all set up upstairs which was in a quieter area! Definitely recommend.

My 3 children joined the wind chime making today. They really enjoyed it. The teacher was great she was kind and patient, explained what to do to each child so they would understand. Overall great fun and definitely will book another workshop. The only thing I would say would be… for children to have a choice of the colour string! I had a 10 year old boy and the only colour available was pink.

It was difficult at first because we had to figure out exactly what I needed to get out of the session. I will need a few sessions HOWEVER I still had a good time and am looking forward to it - it would be great if there was a better drop down menu or maybe a space where we could write if we do or don’t have a machine at home and what exactly our project ideas and main goals may be. Kids really enjoyed this! They made two bunnies and two pine wheels, so was good value for money!
We were the only ones booked in this workshop so was nice and quiet.

Great value for money, venue was easy to find. Just heads up, if you want to have aloof around the local shops, you only have 2 hours parking and the class is 1.5 hours.

Val was the teacher and she was brilliant, she made sure everyone understood how to do the stitches and was very patient. I was a complete beginner. Relaxed and chilled atmosphere. I’d highly recommend the course. You even get 2 balls of lovely yarn, and your own needle to keep, which made it great value for money. Val even said if we get stuck on anything at home we could pop in for more help. The instruction sheet was great too and I’ll use as a reminder at home. Thank you Val :)

Cholesterol the teacher was excellent and so good with the children. All the materials were provided and there was so much to choose from. My granddaughter really enjoyed the experience and I would recommend it as great value for money.

Had a great time. Lovely demonstrator. Items in the lit were minimal and bit dull so the demonstrator added a couple of other items with some colour, dried orange slices and some berries on wire. Without those items the wreath would have been very dull. We were really pleased with the finished items.

I took the class last year with my 6 year, it was so good that we came back again this year with friends, we were 7 and all thoroughly enjoyed, time just flew by. Venue was good, lots of parking. Teacher was lovely. Only problem she had was that other shop customers kept asking her to help them find items in the store. So maybe another member if staff was required for the shop work whilst a course is running.

Our instructor, Val, was very helpful and patient. The time just flew by as we practised the basic stitches. While my "square" wasn't very square, I have found that a few more hours practice does make a big difference. The small group did make this very personal tuition. I'd certainly recommend.

A very informative hour. We had time to go through all the stitches and accessories of my sewing machine and practice various functions. Chloe answed all my questions clearly and gave me some sewing tips. She was personable and efficient. As the other person booked in for the same time did not turn up I had individual attention which was particularly helpful.

The clay workshop was fab! The teacher was happy to keep letting the kids have different colours to use and was helpful showing them how model. Mine decided they didn’t want to do sea creatures but wasn’t an issue, teacher helped youngest with a unicorn and biggest made cats. We came home with several models and left over materials! Excellent value for money!

Was a fab class for the kids! They loved getting messy decorating the mache animals. The teacher was fab and so helpful showing the kids what to do and helping my youngest.

Holidays are so expensive but for a fiver each, my 11 and 7 year old loved designing their canvas with their initial, learning how to use tape. theyey were proud of their results. Kayleigh was brilliant. All materials were provided.

I was curious to see what acrylic pouring was like after watching so many YouTube videos on it . So I looked online and found out that my local hobby craft offered an opportunity to try it out. When I arrived the lady teacher was very welcoming. It was conducted upstairs in a corner of the shop the space was fine. I was presented with an acrylic pouring kit and she set me up for my first go . First attempt of mine was a train wreck , hers looked pretty good. I had enough material to manage 4 pours. She was good fun and I enjoyed the hour lesson which also gave me time to think about what would be needed to do all this at home. Glad I done it as it's definitely better to have a go first before committing to going all in and buying everything. Would recommend this to anyone thinking of acrylic pouring. Thanks Hobbycraft.

The materials were very good but I feel the children needed more guidance rather than be left to it. There were just instructions on a sheet to follow as the girl had not made it before. However the kids enjoyed it with input from the parents.

I did the 1.1 Cricut workshop with Kayleigh. Can’t recommend the class and Kayleigh enough.
I had a few things that I couldn’t work out how to do, I left the workshop confident that I could do it. Kayleigh was brilliant and very knowledgeable. I will definitely be back if I get stuck on anymore projects.

Chelsea was a very good teacher and I learnt how to do everything on my wish list. She was keen for me to use the Cricut machine myself rather than just her doing it while I watched. She clearly enjoyed passing on her knowledge and loves using Cricut products. I would definitely recommend any Cricut newbie to book a one to one with Chelsea. I wasn’t really aware that Hobbycraft do these tutorials and more people should take advantage of them. YouTube is good but a one to one is miles better.
Thank you, Chelsea, and I may well book another session more advanced Cricut techniques.

Teacher was nice but would be better if there were clear guidelines of what to bring or expectations and for teacher to have tools - scissors, tape measure, chalks and sewing machine - to hand. it could be guidelines or ideas for projects and examples made up and following on from that practical ideas for how to cut material and how to use sewing machine. What was good was she talked through various tools that she had found useful that were Instore , this would be ideal if you had started a project and needed guidance going forward .

I thoroughly enjoyed the session and will use it again should any further complications arise on my future projects.

I made a Spring Wreath this morning. Everything was provided for me including a wreath base, glue gun and lots of fabric flowers. I really enjoyed making it with help from Abbie and now have a lovely wreath to hang up. I thoroughly recommend this workshop.

Loved my one2one with Kayleigh. She was super helpful and gave me confidence to go home and have a proper play with my Cricut. Kayleigh is extremely knowledgeable and professional and was able to answer all my silly questions that I blurted out as we did a project together. I would definitely recommend this workshop and will return to do more as well. It was a quiet environment in which to work together and the hour flew by. I feel so much more confident now.

Val my teacher was absolutely brilliant! Really kind, patient and encouraging. She certainly knows what she's doing!
During the session there was some disruption as Val.was the only member of staff upstairs and although our table stated there was a workshop in progress we had 3 other customers interrupting to ask questions/advice. It would be more beneficial, as a paying customer, for these workshops to be more secluded from other members of the public, if possible. Val was very polite and professional throughout but it was a little frustrating.

The teacher (Chelsea) was excellent, she explained everything from start to finish. We covered embossing, vinyl and infusible ink. Chelsea explained how each technique works and how if I tried something more complicated it would also work. She also recommended a Facebook page for Cricut users which will be very useful. I will be back for another one to one lesson when I move on to using leather.

Well presented in a lovely box with all you need, Tia the girl who took us was very sweet.
However there was no assistant upstairs and people kept coming to ask her questions which isn't fair, so either a private room is needed or someone to assist general enquiries.

Had been interested for some time in trying this fun craft. The tutor was friendly and helpful and I enjoyed it. There was plenty of paint but not everything in the kit was useful. This is a very messy thing to do and it was not a good idea that washrooms were closed, although staff did let us use them as it was necessary to wash hands. After the workshop we had panels with wet paint and no suitable way to take them home.

I throughly enjoyed my one to one session with Kayleigh. It was held in a dedicated space in the shop. I was okay standing, however an older person might find that a challenge.
The session was good value for money and the hour passed very quickly.
I was able to achieve my objective of deciding which CRICUT Machine to buy.
Kayleigh was very knowledgeable, patient, enthusiastic and encouraged a hands on approach to learning.
I will definitely have another teaching session once I am more familiar with my machine

Excellent tutor, very friendly and helpful made the workshop enjoyable.
I ordered the blue kit but the washi tape included was red and green and was not the right color to match in with the blue papers. No suitable washi tape available so the tutor exchanged the blue papers for the red but it was disappointing as I liked the idea of blue with silver and snowflakes.

I attended the cricut workshop as a complete beginner so I had very limited basic knowledge of how to use the machine and what it could do. The teacher demonstrated the software and cutting well and I feel much more confident with using the Maker 3. Well worth the £10 cost.
