Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

I joined a crochet class and the tutor was Julie.We were provided with wool and a hook which were great.We learnt the basic stitches and the class was excellent value for money.Julie enabled me to gain more confidence in learning the basic stitches of crochet.Thank you.

It started out well-small group, good preparation, clear instructions etc. The task of cutting the paper was too advanced for some of the little ones - although they were given constant praise and encouragement not to give up. Once they had started printing they should have had a little more direction. The workshop was far too long as all had finished within half an hour. (To be fair this may have been because there were only 3 children in attendance. Once they’d completed their canvas they were allowed to do whatever they wanted, as they were told it was “their artwork”. Cuethe children being ‘gung ho’ with the paint and ending up painting over their lovely prints. I felt that the person leading the workshop felt she had to get the children to do something just to fill the remaining time. I didn’t feel she had enough training or experience to get the children involved in another activity.
I’m not sure my grandaughter gained much from this experience. She certainly didn’t produce any work
She was proud to talk about or show to herb parents.

I cannot fault it in anyway, I took my 5yr great granddaughter to the class, Aurora and she loved it. She was very pleased to present her mum with with her two moulds of a bunny and the sheep. The teacher got a hug from her as a thankyou at the end of class

Had a super experience on Easter Saturday, my 7year old daughter and her 5year old cousin thoroughly enjoyed the Easter Clay modelling session run by Lauren.
Lauren was very kind and easy going and helped and advised the girls and made suggestions and also offered lots of encouragement and compliments about their clay models.
Definitely book another craft session again, thank you :)

A super class that turned out to be just me - so 1-1 tuition. The tutor totally tailored the class to my needs which meant that I got a lot more out of the class than I thought I would. I was told by a lady doing the workshop in Hobbycraft that the children make 3 decorations but in this class they only made 2. The decorations shown to me were using 3 different techniques and materials but when my son did his workshop the decorations used the same materials (beads and pipe cleaners). The children (4 in this particular class) would not have been able to make the decorations without significant help from parents. The instructor did not have much experience in making the decorations but was kind and did her best. The 2 decoration my son made were good.

Julie at Hobbycraft Hereford is a great instructor. The course is perfect for absolute beginners, and Julie had endless patience and positive encouragement to keep us all progressing well right till the end. She was incredibly supportive and flexible in her approach to teaching, allowing us all to choose exactly what we wanted out of the course. We were each supplied a craft tote with two balls of yarn, a 6mm crochet hook, and printed tutorials of what we had learnt. Having used this during the class, with plenty left to practice or actually make something, it really encourages you to pick it back up at home. After around 20-30 minutes at home, I could make the piece in the photo without going back to instructions. Overall, excellent value - I'd highly recommend this for anyone who has tried and struggled to learn from videos, who just wants to try it, or fancies a fun day out!

I love the hobby craft workshops, it’s a great environment and very relaxing. Julie was lovely, so calm and patient with me being a complete beginner and slightly clumsy!
Her tuition was easy to follow and I feel that I’m now able to carry on at home practicing my new hobby. She also gave me lots of tips and suggestions about different types of wools I could progress to eventually.

The workshop was great. Kay, the teacher, was so patient, explained and demonstrated things very well and we had a good laugh with her.
The kit was good quality and pretty and contained everything we needed.

We sat at tables in the centre of the store which was nice as other shoppers could stop by to watch. The facilities were comfortable but could perhaps have done with a little more room as we each had lots of bits laid out on the table.

All in all a great experience with a good teacher and we will recommend it to our friends.

Shame the table wasnt in a teaching circle so he could reach and interact with all children at the same time .he tried his best with the resources given . Materials and choices of colours was great , would have been a good idea to quickly demonstrate what the final result would look like as a 3 year old was unsure why he was sticking tape on a canvas … no hand washing was supplied afterwards but everyone involved enjoyed the experience

My two girls could not have wished for a more friendly and approachable teacher for their wreath making experience. Allowing them the freedom to explore their own ideas for the design but giving the girls guidance on using equipment safetly and to best effect. My timid girls thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely be happy to take part in future crafting classes.

Had a really good day with Kay at Hobbycraft Hereford, doing Christmas Fillable Baubles, everything was provided, just had to take myself, have not done this before & Kay was a very good teacher, I was really pleased with the end result, only disappointing aspect of the whole thing was it went too quickly. I really enjoyed my crochet lesson. My teacher was super. She explained everything carefully and I quickly picked up the method. I was given a lovely box of wool, written instructions and a crochet hook - I’m currently working on my first scarf. I would thoroughly recommend the whole experience.

As there was only me at the workshop it was great having a one to one experience with Gail. A prepackaged wreath making box was supplied which included a basic green wreath, decorations and a glue gun. You were then able to decorate the wreath as you chose with guidance from the teacher.
I really enjoyed my time at the store and the hour and half flew by

The spider creation itself was good but I had to ask for see through string at end of workshop which I had to buy on top of what I’d already paid, for kids to pop round top of spider to hang. This should have been provided. Also it said on the website you could make as may in the hour as the kids want to once shown what to do. After only 23 minutes the class was finished baring in mind the class stated on booking it was from 1-2pm. The class ended at 1.23pm.
I should have in hindsight bought the crafts and done it a home and been able to make many more spiders. Steve was great and patient with the kids but the length of the class was pointless.

Emma was a delightful tutor, I learned not to be afraid of the machine!
Both things I would have liked to be demonstrated were not supported by the wi fi system, I think a serious upgrade of the system is necessary for demonstrating these machines to the high standard which people expect when paying for one to one tuition. However, the hour went so quickly, I will return when I’ve had a practice with my machine.

I arrived early for the session and Emma , my teacher , was already set up and waiting for me
Emma was very easy to understand and explained everything to me regarding how to make a button hole and then how to sew in a zip fastening. She demonstrated clearly and then allowed me to follow her instruction and do it myself.
We also chatted about future class to allow me to take my skills to a further level. A thoroughly enjoyable session. I came away with the confidence to put my experience to the test and to start to make my own clothes.

Pam is a good tutor and always prepares for me going before the class. Pam showed me how to change needles and sew Jersey fabrics. I wanted to make a dust cover for my sewing machine and Pam found me a pattern and explained to me how to use it. I was also showed how to put a zip into a small bag. Pam was a friendly and well prepared tutor. Pat showed me how to make buttonholes, sew buttons on to garments. I was showed how to blind hem with my attachment. This is a brilliant introduction by Emma to my machine that I have had for 3 weeks and have been scared of. This machine has been out of the box but only cut one piece of card with it.
Emma is both very knowledgeable and sympathetic to my lack of knowledge and computer skills.
I had bought some vinyl to use for pantry labels and I now will be able to use it after this one to one class.
This has given me so much confidence to just try things. The worst that can happen is I waste a bit of paper or card.

I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop and after many attempts at trying (and failing) to be able to crochet I came away able to finally do it!
Julie was so patient and adapted the workshop to our level of skill. She was able to share her own recommendations and reassured us there was no right way of holding the hook! She gave me the confidence to give crocheting a go!
You get given everything you need and will have plenty of materials to keep up your new skill once you're home.
This is the 2nd workshop I've done at Hobbycraft and it's a lovely way to learn new skills and meet other crafters.

Teacher was friendly, had done some easy cards for the children to copy. There was no pressure, no rush it was all done in the childrens own time within the allotted hour. I didn’t expect a big box each for the children with all the craft materials needed: paint, paint brushes, glue, cards, envelopes, sequins, felt pens, pom poms, eyes, wooden tree ornaments to colour in, just to name a few. This was theirs to keep and take home to do more, excellent value. Children already want to go next Christmas!

I really enjoyed my Christmas Crackers making class. My teacher Roxane was really nice and very helpful. It was my first class with hobbycraft and i will definitely take more in the future. I found it great that i could buy things after the class to keep on making my Christmas Crakers at home. All was supplied in the box but i wanted to add some colours (like red and green). The box was a nice surprise and i loved the additional detail of having the inside decorate with Christmas theme items which were an inspiration for the crackers.

Kay was great as per previous group.and swapped out my glue gun for extra glue sticks.
A big fail on price unfortunately considering just on shelf by us was the same kit for £10!ok it didn't have gluegun/sticks and jute it's still too expensive for what we got and I won't be doing anymore classes at that price

The teacher was lovely. I was expecting a larger workshop with more tips, rather than something that I could have just taken home and done.
Kit needed a paint dish & the white wasn’t great.
Workshop would be better value for money with a coffee or something included and make it more of an experience.

I have attended sewing lessons since September 2021. New to sewing. The price of lesson is in budget. I have purchased, a new sewing machine, patterns, fabric, guttermann sewing threads, scizzors and have asked for other items within store for Christmas.

I would like to continue with my weekly class, into 2022. Thursdays are the perfect day of the week.

Emma, (who has been awarded, Artisan status, is perfect in every way. Patient, creative, helpful and knowledgeable. Candidates/employed persons within the retail profession, of such a high calibre, are a rare find indeed. I do hope, store management/territory personnel and above, might recognise Emma's ability to generate sales and increase brand loyalty. I personally had never stepped foot in Hobbycraft before September 2021. I currently visit the Hereford Store weekly.

I would add all members of the Hereford store, seem genuinely pleased to help customers.

My course was with Emma Taylor, who was great! Emma explained so well, got me to carry out the steps of making a bag and cosmetic case with infusible ink after explaining well and showing me first. I have not used my machine and press as have had no idea where to begin! I am now confident enough to make on my own and will try in near future. I really enjoyed the whole experience and Emma was fantastic. Would definitely book again with her. Thanks again

Class is good size and we enjoyed however I think it's too expensive for what we got especially as just to side of table was a kit the same for £10.
We be booked on Xmas wreath making too so will end up with 2 glueguns

Confidence building allowed me to create my first autumn season wreath hanging for my front door and it looks spiffing! Kind, patient teacher who gave gentle guidance. Enjoyed this course immensely.

Just had a really good one to one "getting to know your sewing machine" with Emma, at my local Hobbycraft store.
Even though I have been sowing on and off for a long time I learned a lot about my machine as well as things I did not know. Emma was knowledgeable and patient listening to my questions. I now understand the tension as well as the gadgets that came with the machine. I now can't wait to get sewing.

The teacher, Emma, was brilliant. I explained to her that I had lost confidence in my abilities and she immediately found tasks for me to try to build my skills up again. I'm booking lessons with her to start a project and couldn't be happier. I recommend these lessons very highly.

The teacher was excellent, the resources were good. Thoroughly enjoyed the class. The class was good value with the resources you got. Just a shame you couldn’t use your hobbycraft card when you booked the workshop.

Finally after wanting to try card making I've been given the confidence to give it a go! Moira was a patient and knowledgeable teacher who made the workshop fun at the same time as helping us create 3 wonderful cards. I was impressed by the amount of materials we had in our boxes, I've definitely got enough left over to try my new skills! This workshop was fabulous value for money although I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot more money on paper crafts very soon!

What a fabulous experience! I am a lapsed sewer and had no confidence with a new electronic sewing machine. Sadly I forgot to note my tutors name. She was delightful. She had not seen my model before but her experience and professionalism and enthusiasm shone through as we worked our way through the controls, troubleshooting where required. The practice sheets are well thought out and useful for developing skills with the various stitch choices. I will be booking another workshop.

A great introduction for me as a total beginner using a sewing machine. The lady taking the session was fantastic. She was full of brilliant tips, explained everything clearly and obviously really enjoyed what she was doing. I left with lots of enthusiasm to get going. I came straight home and have already made a small beanbag and a mask.
