Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

I had the most amazing experience with Anna in my 121 private crochet lesson. She was friendly happy positive. I was not a complete beginner but needed help reading a pattern and learning how to change colours. I learnt so much in the lesson. I would recommend Anna and this class to everyone. Great class and well worth the fee. I’m a sewer but haven’t been near my machine in 10+ years so wanted a refresher on functions and a focus on what to do when I find the threads all bunched up on the back of the fabric. Julie was my host, she was patient and happy to repeat advice on the various machine functions when I didn’t quite absorb the first demonstration. Julie’s teaching skills were excellent. I recommend this sewing class with Julie to new and experienced sewers alike.

This was a nice start to the Easter half term. Donna had examples already made up so my daughter could see what she was making. Donna Instructed my daughter on what to do through out the making process and my daughter had fun making her easter animals

This was a really fun activity as my daughter loves anything arts and craft. Donna had set out everything really nicely and gave the children full accessibility to as many paint colours and different style brushes. I very much appreciate the full covered aprons to protect me daughter's clothes.

She made a sheep out of air dry clay which is the first time she has used this material, she throughly enjoyed the activity and is looking forward to attending further workshops. Millie was an excellent and patient teacher and so skilled at brush lettering. She took time to demonstrate how to form all the letters of the alphabet and shared some helpful tips. The materials supplied were very good and I was pleased to be to take them home to practise this new skill.

Imagine I was abit scared of my maker it stayed in the box for a bit then Donna my mentor said to take it out of the box. I made cards with the joy. I also made coasters with the infusible ink sheets. I made I cut and press unto a bag. Then I decided to go back at it by doing the one to one to get my confidence back at it. I’ve sent my request for another class which I am looking forward to

I had a wonderful intro to using the cricut machines which has allowed me to make an informed decision on what I need to buy.

I also learnt a few of the basic skills to use the design space vinyls and iron ons.

We had the pleasure of having our session with Donna, who was so lovely, warm, and friendly. Our session only had my booking, so my daughter was lucky enough to have a one on one session. Donna took her time and instructed my daughter well during each step and she had a really great time. For £5 the event was really great. My daughter went home with 3 great spaced themed creation. I will definitely be looking for some more events for the half term not only for my daughter but for myself.

Jill explained how to set up, clean and use the sewing machine very clearly. She showed me how to do the stitches and let me try and do them to. She also showed us the types of needles to use for the type of fabric and different threads to use and the sewing machines and prices. Jill was overall very nice and she didn’t make the session feel rushed.

This course is exactly what I was looking for, the teaching was excellent and I certainly gained from the fact that I was the only participant. I have never managed to get to grips with crochet and apparently it’s likely to be because I’m a keen knitter! I now feel confident that I can do the basic crochet stitches and after some practice I will sign up to another course so that I can learn how to read patterns. I highly recommend this course.

It was a great course. The venue was fine. The teacher Milly was lovely. I think it should be a bit longer as had to finish the wreath off at home and none of us finished. The products were supplied in a box but the material for the box could have been thicker. Overall I was very satisfied with the course and worth the money. Thank you

Anna was my crochet teacher for the sec time at Hobbycraft chingford and I must say the hour long session was a blast! I wanted to learn how to make a crochet dog coat and she was so organised and helpful plus prepared! I will definitely be coming back for another session as Anna was a great teacher and very patient too! Great job Hobbycraft chingford and Anna!

My teacher was lovely and very helpful and my fellow makers were lovely also I would throughly recommend this class as you get to take home a wreath for Christmas which you can reuse every year! Now that I know how to make one I might have a go at making one by myself for family members as a gift. Good work Hobbycraft chingford!

Millie was great - friendly, approachable, patient and encouraging. I learned how to use the amazing pens - which we got for free with a pad too - and got some great tips from Millie. The fact that the in person groups are small is great for me - as easier to follow and less intimidating than in bigger groups to ask questions.

For me the venue was easy to get to by car and plenty of parking available.

All in all, I was very pleased with the session and felt it was good value for money.

Millie was great - friendly, approachable, patient and encouraging. I learned a lot - mainly how to lightly mark and section off areas of the landscape to achieve better scale and perspective. The fact that the in person groups are to small groups is great for me - as easier to follow and less intimidating than in bigger groups to ask questions.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a tote bag, A4 sketchbook and full set of pencils etc for the session. For me the venue was easy to get to by car and plenty of parking available.

All in all, I was very pleased with the session and felt it was good value for money.

Our workshop was simply Amazon and very informative. Our teacher was Donna and she explained everything in great detail and with so much patience. She gave us her full attention , answering all our questions and giving us plenty of chances to work with the materials and making sense of the process.
She offered us great guidance with the products we were interested in and she provided great tips on how to buy and how to make the best of each of them!
The venue was great, Christmas vibes were on, the workshop took place upstairs , great little corner , tucked away from the bustling entrance.

As you get a set of paints and pad you are all set - Millie also kindly sent me a video and gave me ideas of what to try next. Millie was a lovely class host! She was smiley, engaging & went through everything step by step & repeated steps if needed. All items needed were provided. The setup was nice upstairs, however, as it was by the stairs there was a lot of foot traffic & people commenting as they came up the stairs. Overall, it was really great, it wasn't my first class & definitely won't be my last.

I had a great time at the Butterfly sketching workshop. Tutor-Millie was friendly, approachable and demonstrated the whole process of drawing the butterfly methodically and explained the different uses of the pencils. This helped a lot as I’ve learnt a little more on the different pencils and its uses.The venue was also very appropriate to the workshop - it would have been better if Millie had an easel to demonstrate. The workshop was definitely value for money as it also included the kit which we took home. Wish it was a little longer than and hour as we didn’t get to finish the sketching. I’ll be definitely booking more workshops in the future if at this price.

This was a class of four students with varying experience - half absolute beginners. Our teacher, Anna, was excellent. After giving us clear instructions, together with demonstration, she would patiently go around the table and support every one of us individually, making sure we are doing it right. Today I had a one to one sewing class with the great teacher Jill at the chingford branch. I learnt so many valuable tips from jill and she was extremely patient and knowledgeable with understanding my project and what I needed out of the lesson outcome . We went through everything from cleaning the machine to sewing and knowing which threads , needles and accessories and binding would be best for my project . I left extremely confident in knowing my abilities and happy to take on new projects . I would really recommend Jill and her Colleagues for a one to one sewing lesson as I left extremely happy and knowledgeable. And best part is the place is extremely clean and tidy so you’re easily able to work . A bargain at only £20.00 a session!

Great session love the air drying clay never used before and it’s amazing. The lady doing the session was very friendly and helpful. My 2nd time taking my kids to a workshop and they really enjoyed themselves. I even brought some of the clay so we could make other thing. £1 a packet can’t go wrong.

Fabulous lesson from Donna! She was super friendly and gave me advice and didn’t laugh at any of my stupid questions. Donna went through each step slowly and has enabled me to fall in love with my cricut instead of being afraid of it! This is the first Hobbycraft workshop I have attended and I enjoyed it so much. Donna was an excellent teacher and the box of goodies that was provided for Easter wreath making exceeded my expectations. With some help I managed to make a wreath that looks almost as good as the one illustrated and I am very happy with the results. The workshop was good value for money and I hope to join in with another one again soon.

Pleasantly surprised at how good the workshop was. My 3 year old loved it. Made 3 different sea creatures and able to take them home too. Did manage to book this workshop for free during an offer but for £5 I’d definitely recommend it and will look into booking other workshops for my little one in the future. AMAZING value. Lasted a full hour and ran over a little. Didn’t feel rushed. I had presumed that as it was free it may not be as great and will be rushed but no, it was honestly amazing. Lovely little session. I had the chance to take part in the sewing workshop at hobbycraft and honestly I feel so much more confident in trying to use the sewing machine I have at home. The workshop despite the description saying it only touches on the basics went through many aspects of the sewing machine and sewing in general which was really helpful. The instructor was lovely and took her time explaining everything and you could tell she really enjoys sewing.

Fun session today with canvas painting. It didn't last an hour, maybe about 30 minutes but my child enjoyed the experience. The staff even found a box and helped dry the sides of the canvas to make it easier for us to take it home.

It was really fun to do and you could do many different patterns with your initial in masking tape. Once it dried you can peel off the tape and reveal the letter with the coloured background. If you wanted to you could trace your letter with a black pen to make it stand out more.

I attended the fluid art workshop today 25.4.22 in chingford.
The teacher was excellent - knowledgable, friendly and encouraging.
The venue was good. I had expected there may be shoppers that might stand and watch but no one did.
The materials seem good and I felt I learnt enough to begin with and that has given me the confidence to continue at home.
We ran over the hour and it was needed - a 1.5 - 2 hour class would be lovely as it was so enjoyable.

Donna was as fab as ever! She was very patient whilst explaining and supporting us through the workshop.

Jill was a brilliant teacher, who was kind, friendly and helpful. The workspace was spacious and ideal for focusing on what we were learning. Jill helped my daughter and I learn how to set up and begin to use a sewing machine. She was very thorough and ensured we understood each step and were able to practise. Everything went smoothly and I would recommend this session to everyone!

I was there with my two kids. But I personally felt it was not organised well. Teacher was keep looking for material all the time. Sets for kids were not ready in advance. I also felt the teacher was giving more attention to the other parent with me. Over all I did not feel that kids actually learn anything… we could have bought a puppet pack at home and do it by ourself instead of going for that class.

My workshop was absolutely amazing in Chingford branch.
The staff accommodated me very well and introduced me to my Teacher Donna.
Donna explained everything I needed to know about the critit maker.
Donna and i worked together creating pictures and letters on Vinyl paper. I find it very difficult using my machine especially making letters on font. I was reassured by donna for ongoing support if needed. I was very pleased working with donna and she made me feel very comfortable. i will defiantly recommend Donna to my family and friends.

I enjoyed the hour I spent in the workshop and found it relaxing and the staff member very pleasant, but I think it is somewhat missold. You are essentially given a box containing brush pens, an A4 pad, a hardback notebook and brown paper gift tags and spend the hour copying lettering from some sheets with sample letters printed on it. Could have done this at home for 1/4 of the price and would not have paid for filler products I did not want or need. Has put me off booking other workshops.

Loved the class! We’ve just bought the cricut, so we had no idea how to use it. We were shown how to use the app, the machine, the vinyl and the tools. Being shown in person was so much better than the tutorials online. All our questions were answers and everything was so hands on. She was lost at the word Bluetooth. I will need to practice at home and then pop in and ask for more advice.
The course can be improved by using the Cricut iron to complete something on fabric and paper. Very good though and open to random questions

The teacher was very good, she made us feel welcomed with her relaxed and friendly manner. She explained what we had to do and how to avoid common mistakes and was very knowledgeable. The venue was adequate but a larger table and working space would have been ideal. All the materials required for the workshop was provided and was very good value for money. I learnt how to work with clay to make decorative ornaments using different mediums. I thoroughly enjoyed it 1hr went very quickly.

Had a lesson with Jill and I was not disappointed! I am a complete beginner so Jill made sure i knew how to start on my own machine. She showed me basic things and sewing techniques so that i can comfortably start on my own machine at home. First, the positives: the teacher, Jill, was very nice and helpful and knew her stuff. However, Hobbycraft’s system is lacking- I was told not to bring anything, but apparently I should have brought my machine. Secondly, I tried to postpone the session the day before but got no response to my email, so went anyway. Nothing was set up when I arrived, but Jill was apparently a replacement teacher and she did set things up within ten minutes and gave me a full hour’s lesson. So the four stars are for her, and it would have been five stars if Hobbycraft were more organised. The session was a good refresher for me as I hadn’t sewn for many years, just what I asked Jill for.

Donna was a great teacher, really patient and had good knowledge of the product. Venue was nice & clean.
Could have been slightly more private as there were a couple of interruptions from customers. It was good value for money. Looking forward to put it into practice.
