What you'll do
Looking for a creative and hands-on activity? Join our glass fusing class in Oxford and learn the beautiful art of shaping glass! In this 3-hour workshop, you'll have the opportunity to create your own unique glass piece to take home. Whether you fancy making a 17cm dish, 15cm plate, curved freestanding piece, something to hang in the window or garden, a set of coasters, or a soap dish, the choice is entirely yours.
At the beginning of the class, I will teach you how to handle glass safely. I understand that working with glass for the first time can be a bit intimidating, but fear not! I will guide you through the entire process and ensure that you feel confident and comfortable.
Once you've mastered the techniques, we'll dive into the exciting part - shaping the glass. With your unique idea in mind, you'll learn how to transform raw materials into a stunning glass piece.
After you've finished creating your masterpiece, you can leave it with me to put it in the kiln. Don't worry, we'll arrange a time for you to collect your finished piece or have it posted to you at your convenience.

I have been playing with glass for 9 years, starting with leaded glass and moving onto fused glass and lampwork. I love teaching others to create the designs they may have in glass. Some have no idea what they'd like to make, others have done extensive research, all are welcome. The creativity comes from within, the kiln does the work to make a very personal piece of artwork.
