In the Science of Cooking for Kids workshop, young chefs will learn all about the exciting science behind their favourite foods. This engaging online activity is perfect for curious minds who want to understand the magic that happens in the kitchen.
With guidance from a Chef Team Leader, children will watch exclusive cooking videos and follow simple recipes. They'll get to see how ingredients react when cooked and discover why certain elements are essential for a perfect dish. This is a brilliant opportunity for kids to learn how different cooking methods can completely change the food they are making.
Throughout this fun-filled workshop, your child will explore:
  • How ingredients react with each other
  • Why certain ingredients are so important in recipes
  • How different cooking methods affect the final dish
Your little chef will finish the class with a fresh perspective on cooking, blending creativity with a newfound appreciation for the science in their culinary creations.

Adult accompaniment is not required.

Hi! I'm Beyza, an educator and science communicator — and one of the co-founders of Nature of Science for Kids. Together with our creative and passionate team, we set out on a mission to make science more meaningful, playful, and accessible for children and their families.
Our story began with a simple but powerful idea:
What if science could be discovered through everyday experiences — like cooking in the kitchen, playing with textures, or exploring nature’s wonders at home?
To bring this vision to life, we partnered with professional chef Taylan, whose warm and inspiring approach to food and education helped us design interactive workshops where children can explore the science behind cooking. This collaboration led to the creation of Nature of Science for Kids — a platform where families around the world can learn, laugh, and experiment together.
We design and host online workshops that combine science, storytelling, and hands-on activities — helping children understand everyday phenomena through curiosity-driven, kitchen-based explorations. From melting, dissolving, and transforming ingredients, to observing cause and effect in real time, our sessions are where science meets everyday life.

As a team, we bring experience from education, curriculum design, child development, and digital learning.
