  • 5/5 from Katerina Nikita, attended Nov 2025: I had such a great time at the Modern Calligraphy workshop with Anthea! She’s a wonderful instructor who explained everything -from pens and nibs to inks and paper - so clearly. You can tell she’s truly passionate about calligraphy, and it really shines through in her teaching. The space was lovely and cozy, and the small group size made it easy to ask questions and get hands-on help. It was a fun, rewarding experience and much harder (and more satisfying!) than it looks. If you’re considering a workshop, I’d definitely recommend taking this one with Anthea!
  • 5/5 from Klaudia Grochot-Fraser, attended Nov 2025: I really enjoyed the class. Anthea is a great teacher - kind, patient, easy going. I loved the fact the starter kit was included. I came to the workshop straight after work, quite tired, but left feeling relaxed and uplifted after learning a new skill. Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Beth McCartney, attended Sep 2025: Really enjoyed this class, learnt a lot and have come away with lots of resources to keep practicing for upcoming wedding DIY! A great workshop to come alone or with friends.
  • 5/5 from Emily Pilcher, attended Mar 2025: I had such a fantastic time at this calligraphy class! The teacher was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also a lovely person who made the session both informative and engaging. She took the time to go around and help each of us individually, offering invaluable tips on mixing inks and perfecting our grip—things I would never have picked up from a book or video. If you’re into anything crafty, I highly recommend this class. I’ll definitely be back for another creative session!
  • 5/5 from Robin Dodds, attended Mar 2025: The class was wonderful, the teacher Anthea was wonderful - skilled, patient and full of good energy :) We immediately dropped into flow state and by the end were getting great results! Also you get to take the materials away with you so you can immediately put what you learned into practice without having to buy loads of extra kit!
  • 5/5 from Carla Antunes, attended Jan 2025: The teacher was very friendly and kind. We felt supported and gently encouraged throught the class. The general information and background on calligraphy was helpful, and she gave us the supplies at the end, so we can continue practicing at home. Overall, a great experience.

  • 5/5 from Virginia Vogel, attended Jun 2024: Amazing class! The time flew by, I can't believe we were working for 2 hours! All I want to do is keep practicing Calligraphy now!! :)
  • 5/5 from Dawn McCusker, attended Jun 2023: Our teacher, Charlotte, was wonderful! We had 13 in our group and she did a fantastic job with a large number of students. Instructions and materials were provided which we were able to take with us. She provided tea, water and lovely cupcakes, asking days before if we had any vegan or gluten needs. The two hours flew by and we had a great time. We're a study abroad group from the US. The students had such a lovely time! They learned a lot on brush calligraphy, how to use the pens correctly, and the correct way to make each letter! The location was a cute room in a building near Covent Garden, decorated for creative inspiration! I would highly recommend this class!
  • 5/5 from Victoria Murphy, attended Sep 2022: Friendly, skilled teacher (Charlotte) taught me the basics of brush calligraphy and gave me the confidence to go and write pretty cards! The Tea and Crafting venue was very jolly, too. There were just two of us in the class and it was all really fun, with lots of bits to take home too.

Hey, I’m Jane, and I’m obsessed with all things crafty! If it involves glue, yarn, paint, or paper—chances are, I’ve tried it. I started Tea and Crafting back in 2009 as a cosy, welcoming workshop space in Covent Garden because I wanted to share my love of crafting with everyone.
I totally get that life is busy, so I made it my mission to offer fun, relaxed, and totally doable craft workshops—no six-week commitment required! Just pop in, get creative, and walk away with something amazing (even if you think you're “not crafty”).
Fast forward 12 years, and I’m still here, sharing the magic of making alongside a fantastic team of expert crafters. Because honestly? Crafting isn’t just about being good at it—it’s about the joy, the creativity, and that unbeatable feel-good factor. So, come craft with us! ️
