Take your sewing skills to the next level in this hands‑on intermediate course at our Make & Mend Studio. Over six weekly sessions, you’ll learn how to confidently read sewing patterns and turn them into beautifully finished garments. You’ll begin by making a cotton tunic, then choose between tailored trousers with seam pockets or a flowing tiered skirt.
Perfect for those with some sewing experience, this course blends technical learning with creativity and plenty of support.
What to expect:
Practise accurate measuring, pattern reading, fabric cutting and garment assembly
Master professional finishing techniques for polished results

Work with a curated selection of materials — or bring your own

Knowledge required
Some prior sewing awareness is beneficial; most participants move on to this course after our beginner’s course
What to bring
  • Optional: your own textiles (Recommended: 2 metres x 1.45 metres of plain woven cotton for your first garment)
  • If not, we provide the material.

This class series runs over 6 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.
