Learn the basics of decoupage at your own pace.

1.5 hours Class size 1 to 6 guests       £30 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

As seen recently on ITVX's Jimmy & Shivi's Farmhouse Breakfast, Mireille will teach you the wonderful art of decoupage from the comfort of your own home!
Learn the simple but very effective method of decoupage in this introductory 90-minute workshop.
You will learn how to decoupage a glass jar step by step at your own pace.
Prior to the online workshop, you will need to do the following:
Paint a glass jar white. I recommend using a small sponge to dab the paint on; this way, you won't get any stroke marks. Two or three layers of paint should be enough. You don't need to buy any expensive paint—white emulsion for walls will work just fine! If you have acrylic paint at home, this will also work. Cover the entirety of the glass; you can also paint the lid. A mayonnaise jar, large jam jar, milk bottle, coffee jar (Douwe Egberts are great jars!), or sauce jar will work just fine. Paint a few jars of different sizes if you wish and bring them along.
You will need a few napkins with a pretty design of your choice; they must have a WHITE background. You can have a selection of napkins with different designs that you want to mix together, for example flowers and birds, strawberries and bees or you can just use the design from one napkin. See the LAST photo on this advert to see examples of napkins. You don't want to choose a napkin that has one large image on it, as this will be too big to apply to a glass jar. You want designs where there are small images that can be cut out and will fit easily onto your jar.
You will need some school PVA glue, a brush for applying the glue, a thin brush (see last photo), a pot of water, a plastic A4 sheet, a small pair of sharp scissors, and a hairdryer to speed up the drying process!
We will run the workshop using Microsoft Teams. This will need to be on your laptop or PC. I will send you a link prior to the workshop. If you haven't done this before, I am happy to go through it with you a few days before to practise.
This is a lovely craft to learn, is inexpensive, and highly addictive!
I look forward to meeting you (virtually) very soon!
Any questions, please just ask.
