  • 4/5 from Natasha Lea, attended Dec 2025: The class and overall atmosphere were great. But it would’ve been even better if each person had the chance to make their own batch, as the ingredients and equipment given were shared between two participants.
  • 5/5 from Louise Murray, attended Aug 2025: We had a great time making pastel de nata! Good, well equipped facilities and friendly staff. • 5/5 from Polly Murray, attended Nov 2024: I bought a voucher for my partner's 40th birthday as I knew he loved pastel de natas. We weren't convinced we would have the skills to make anything that resembled the Portuguese treat, but with the expert help from the owner, we were able to produce 12 natas that looked fit for a bakery. Friendly staff, professional kitchen set up, demonstration area, easy to get to - what more could we want? Highly highly recommended. We'll definitely be back!
  • 3/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Nov 2024: Very expensive for what it was and felt a bit like a factory without much soul in their cooking
  • 5/5 from Angelene Bayraktar, attended Aug 2024: An absolute brilliant, fun workshop. Fabulous teaching on how to make Pastel del Nata. Would definitely recommend.
  • 5/5 from Jack, attended Apr 2024: We had an absolutely fantastic afternoon making pastel de natas at the Avenue cookery school. The hosts were amazing, it was super fun, we were able to take a bottle of wine along with us, and would hugely recommend the experience to anyone. The end result was fantastic!
  • 5/5 from Fran Crouch, attended Feb 2024: This was a gift from a friend who loves Pastel de nata! It was a brilliant workshop - pleasant, well organised surroundings, calm, positive vibes and a warm, friendly teacher who was genuinely interested in her clients and also all aspects of cooking. Each stage of the recipe was clearly demonstrated with lots of helpful tips and explanations. Really, really enjoyable and we came away confident we could give it a go at home. Fabulous afternoon - thank you! We’ll be back….
  • 5/5 from Bonnie, attended Feb 2024: Helpful instructors, came around to check and give tips. Room was laid out well - mirror above the demonstration helped the class to see what the cooking action from above without having to crowd around the station. Was great to take home 12 pastel de natas at the end of the course - I shared them with friends.
  • 4/5 from Sofia Valenti, attended Apr 2023: The venue is very cool, and the teacher is amazing too. The team was very welcoming and nice, all the questions were answered and the process of making the pastelas was clear and very detailed. A bit too pricy.
  • 2/5 from Denisa Delic, attended Jan 2023: I was very disappointed with this class. Firstly, I’m not sure what it was trying to be - is it a fun class or is it a serious learning class? You can’t bounce between the two during the class though and not everyone has the same level of knowledge, so you have to be clear what you are. Then there was poor structure - the woman who was running it (Diana) sped through the instructions, jumping between explaining other things that we weren’t there for. It left everyone confused and meant most people didn’t know what they were doing. Time management was also an issue - not only because we all needed clarifying with the instructions, but also simple things like ovens weren’t on when we needed to bake. So we had to rush, and at the end, we had to take our bakes away immediately (as we ran out of time to enjoy them there)…which didn’t bode well as they went from oven to Tupperware. So by the time you got home (even a short ride home), they were ruined. Then there were people around us who were doing other things in the background, running between us in our lesson, and preparing for the next one. All in all, I do not recommend this class at the Avenue Cookery School. I’ve been to far better ones in London.
