  • 5/5 from Michele Kelly, attended Nov 2024: Absolutely great. Fantastic teacher and the time just flew by. Thank you.
  • 3/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Nov 2024: The class itself was, I’m sure, really good, clear, and helpful for 90% of people. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t suitable for someone left handed like me. The instructor couldn’t crochet left handed, and she didn’t know how to show me. To her credit, she did teach herself to crochet from the left by the end of the lesson!! Which was amazing! But obviously too late for me.
  • 5/5 from Samantha Wilson, attended Oct 2024: Susan was an incredible teacher. I didn't expect to leave with the confidence to start my own project already, but I'm making a scarf. She was lovely and helped me pick out supplies afterwards.
  • 5/5 from James Canniford, attended Oct 2024: I wanted to learn and had tried every book and YouTube video. Susan was excellent. I came home able to crochet! Materials were all provided and are given to take home. Highly recommend working with Susan.
  • 4/5 from Suzanne, attended Oct 2024: Our teacher was good & very patient. The venue was well set out with a very relaxed atmosphere. The workshop was excellent value for money. I have been able to use the materials & instructions provided to practice the stitches before I decide on my first project!
  • 3/5 from Jen Horsley, attended Oct 2024: The class started well with Sue showing me how to cast on. However I'd sat at the wrong side of Sue so when she demonstrated stiches I couldn't see her hands. I did mention this several times and Sue did turn her hands too me but not for long enough. I sought clarification during the class that I was doing everything right and Sue did confirm that I was doing really well. However 20 minis from the end of the class, when I was still struggling with my stitches I noticed that one of the other students was holding her thread in the opposite hand to me. I again queried what I was doing with Sue who then said, ah yes you are holding it all wrong, that's why my work was untidy and hard to manipulate. I changed hands but by now I was despondent. I left the class feeling as if I would not be able to pick up crocheting and quite deflated after looking forward to the class for weeks.
  • 5/5 from Alison Hesley, attended Sep 2024: Brilliant. We learnt so much. And feel confident to have a go in our own. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Kirsty White, attended Sep 2024: I went to a small crochet beginners class. Having such a small group meant Susan was able to help everyone out individually and adapt to our needs. Great team member, great price for the course and a lot of fun. My 3rd workshop and I’m sure I’ll do many more
  • 5/5 from Lucy, attended Aug 2024: It was great. I’ve never tried crochet before and found it quite challenging, something I don’t like as I can usually pick up crafts quite easily, but with encouragement and tuition from Rebecca I managed to figure it out. I’ll definitely be continuing and trying to improve my skills learned today
  • 5/5 from Dominique Sawyer, attended Aug 2024: Excellent course with a wonderful teacher! Looking forward to attending another. It’s great that you get to take some resources to practice with too.
  • 5/5 from Sarah, attended Aug 2024: I'm an NHS Youth Worker and support the young adults I work with to try new activities and learn new skills. The Beginners Crochet Workshop was the perfect way to try something new in a supportive way. It's great that we were able to take the materials away with us to continue having a go at home. The facilitator was engaging and very patient! The space was good, although I can imagine for a weekend workshop the noise of the store and having customers walking around us would be distracting, particularly for those of us who are neurodivergent. I think it would have been good to have two full hours rather than 1.5 as it wasn't quite enough time to get the hang of things. It was great that it was a small group (5 participants), but that felt too big time-wise, as the facilitator had to go around and instruct each of us individually at points, and then you had to wait a while not doing much until she could come back to you. The number would be fine for something like printing or decoupage, but when it was something more intricate, it meant we didn't get that much done in the time.
  • 4/5 from Elizabeth, attended Aug 2024: Rebecca was excellent at teaching but with 5 in the class, quite a lot of time was spent waiting for her to get to you. It would be much better to do the one to one workshop. The materials you were given made it good value for money.
  • 4/5 from Debbie Hammill, attended Aug 2024: A good introduction to crochet. The tutor was very knowledgeable experienced and patient. The bag of goodies appreciated
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Jul 2024: Really enjoyed the beginning crochet workshop. Sue was great and explained everything clearly. Left feeling confident in the basic stitches
  • 5/5 from Katharine Lockett, attended Jul 2024: She was a great trainer. So nice and patient. Had different skills to teach. Will definitely go again
  • 5/5 from Olivia Beaumont, attended Jul 2024: Sue was very knowledgeable, kind and patient. Very good class, went by in a flash.
  • 5/5 from Jess Richardson, attended Jul 2024: The class was brilliant, Sue was really helpful. I’d tried teaching myself before but had no luck. After the class I’m looking forward to having a go at making a simple baby blanket.
  • 5/5 from Rachael, attended Jun 2024: Sue was absolutely incredible! So patient and really clever in how she found ways to help me learn. I feel so much more confident in getting started with crochet now. The materials were spot on as I found the chunkier yarn far easier to work with and see how things work together. I learned slipknot, two forms of double crochet, treble crochet, half treble crochet and even how to change colours! This workshop was absolutely fab and I will definitely be booking onto another in the future to pick up more hints and tips.
  • 5/5 from Lisa Berry, attended Jun 2024: This was a Father’s Day present, and was a great introduction to crochet. The teacher, Sue, was patient and supportive - even when I kept going wrong. She is a credit to the Crown Point, Leeds Hobbycraft Team. Thoroughly enjoyed this introductory lesson and I think it’s given me the basic skills I need to crochet some cool things!
  • 5/5 from Sally Portlock, attended May 2024: Sue was fantastic at explaining crochet to beginners, very experienced and had lots of little helpful tips and ways to remember. Very friendly and welcoming too, really enjoyed the workshop & will definitely be back!!
  • 5/5 from Gillian Coyle, attended Apr 2024: The class was AMAZING. Just four of us in the group, and we were all knitters, so we had similar expectations, errors and experience. The teacher was fabulous: she gave us one-on-one guidance and help, let us stretch our skills a teeny bit, and was so encouraging. The materials provided were decent beginner standard; the teacher gave us recommendations for tools as we progress in the craft. This is the second Hobbycraft craft class I've done, and I honestly can't recommend them highly enough. Very reasonably priced, well-taught and fun taster sessions.
  • 5/5 from Rebekka Kill, attended Apr 2024: The tutor, Susan, was lovely So helpful and patient. It was also very good value as we were given about £10 worth of materials to take home.
  • 5/5 from Lauren, attended Apr 2024: Sue was really helpful throughout, answered any questions or queries we had. Some bits we struggled on and she explained it all so clearly. She was very patient and kind.
  • 5/5 from Judith Cage, attended Apr 2024: Our teacher Rebecca was great. Patient and friendly with straightforward instructions. The materials were plentiful. Lovely afternoon out.
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Apr 2024: The class was really informative and Rebecca was on hand to answer any questions we had
