Recent reviews of Guided Painting Class

5/5 from Laura Dolling, attended Jun 2026: From the moment we booked the class until the moment the class finished, it was a seamless experience. I was looking for something that the whole team would enjoy and came across this site. The booking process was super easy and the questions I raised were responded to within the day. We were welcomed by our artist who immediately put us at ease and even made those who were a little reticent to feel comfortable. Very quickly we were all busy painting. The artist was supportive and guided us when we needed it. The session was well timed and we all managed to complete our work within the 2 hours. We were all super proud of what we had achieved, far better than anything we anticipated. Will definitely look on this site to arrange future team experiences. Thank you
5/5 from Elizabeth McLavy, attended May 2026: Teacher was very helpful, went at a good pace and gave suggestions. She was very pleasant. The experience was therapeutic and relaxing.
5/5 from Lucie Hartmann, attended Jul 2025: We had a lovely time with Naomi. It was relaxed and comfortable and she guided us through our hesitation. The class is accessible to everyone and pizza and bar are a huge plus! Very recommended, thank you!
5/5 from Marie Stewart, attended Jun 2025: Fanstic class! Really enjoyed it, great for a relaxed team building day
5/5 from Pinar Salman, attended Feb 2025: Quite fun class! Very happy with the teacher!
4/5 from Aisha, attended Aug 2024: Did this with my sister while we were both on holidays and it was so fun to channel our inner child and artist. Albeit my perfectionism usually gets in the way as I get frustrated with errors or imperfections but the teacher was so helpful with guiding us along the way and giving us tips to fix or improve our brush techniques etc Thank you for a great and fun experience!
5/5 from Aya Othman, attended May 2024: We recently had a team social day at Art Play and it was truly a delightful experience. The entire team thoroughly enjoyed the activities offered and it turned out to be a memorable day for all of us. The art gallery provided a wonderful setting for our team bonding and we were able to appreciate and engage with various artistic expressions. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to explore our creativity and enjoy each other's company in such a unique and inspiring environment. Thank you, Art Play, for a fantastic day filled with creativity and connection.
5/5 from Wei Jian Tan, attended Apr 2024: It was a treat for my girlfriend's 30th birthday party, located in a very convenient location. Even though we had no experience in painting whatsoever, we felt very welcome and our questions were answered quickly. We painted a scenery of a sun reflected on an ocean backdrop. We were guided on the painting techniques, and we managed to bring our art piece home.
5/5 from Megan Welstead, attended Mar 2024: Very relaxing and easy to follow painting tutorial. Great for a chilled morning, very much enjoyed the cappuccino as well. Simon was a great teacher, very friendly and thorough.
5/5 from Lisa Goldwater, attended Mar 2024: Great atmosphere at a lovely welcoming venueI came with a couple of friends having walked past a few weeks ago. The teacher Eleanor was friendly and put everyone at ease. Although there was structure to the painting we were advised that we could change some elements, for example colour, and how we could use this to contrast or use harmonious colours. The demonstration was very clear and completing the painting within the allocated time was realistic. We were provided with acrylic paints and different size brushes and were told how we could adapt to suit our own preference, ie using heavy bodied acrylic paint for texture. We all had a very enjoyable time and I will certainly be booking more classes. Thankyou
5/5 from Marina Veiga, attended Feb 2024: I booked the Sober Sip and Paint for my SILs hen do and the activity was a massive hit. Most of us were not artsy but managed to create something beautiful with 7 out of 8 of us taking our creations home. Our teacher was Sophia and she was friendly and helpful all the way through out the activity. Since our session was 10.30am to 12.30pm, we were able to leave the canvas there and collect them later which was helpful.
5/5 from Alice Carter, attended Feb 2024: We had so much fun, me and my mum went for her birthday and the teacher was very welcoming (we had elena). Would really recommend
5/5 from Sabina, attended Jan 2024: The teacher was great and accommodating. Step by step instructions and a really enjoyable class to do with friends, family or with your partner. I will be returning with my girls next time!
5/5 from Naima Almahrizi, attended Oct 2023: Amazing class worth every minute, very friendly staff can’t wait to visit again soon!
5/5 from Rumi Kamal, attended Sep 2023: Loved this activity with my sister! Would highly recommend to go with a family member, a date and for groups
5/5 from Charlie Peachey, attended Sep 2023: Great teacher and instruction, Team enjoyed the morning and we all have fabulous pictures to display in our office. Also -0 the location was great - being in Spitalfields, the studio felt very artistic and authentic! Thank you! :-)
5/5 from Christiana, attended Sep 2023: Wasn’t sure what to expect but it was great The instructor Sophia was very helpful, and we really enjoyed the two hours painting our lemon branch. I would definitely recommend and keen to try other classes too.
5/5 from Zoey Shi, attended Aug 2023: The teacher is so patient and nice. Everyone got lots of guidance and instruction from him
5/5 from Adonia Vodoan, attended Jul 2023: We had a great experience! We booked this class as a company team building (31 people) and the environment was great from the beginning till the end! Thank you to both of the teachers :)
5/5 from Maximilian Stummer, attended Jun 2023: I recently hosted my child's 7th birthday party at the ArtPlay Spitalfields, and it was an absolute delight! Abi’s enthusiasm and passion for art was contagious, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. The beautifully decorated party room, personalized painting activities, and well-organized schedule made the experience exceptional. The kids had a blast exploring various art forms, and the parents could relax and enjoy themselves too. It was worth every penny, and I highly recommend the ArtPlay for an unforgettable and inspiring birthday celebration for young artists.
5/5 from Hanaa Butt, attended Jun 2023: Abbie was lovely and accommodating. Great experience and loved the paintings we brought home. Thank you x
5/5 from Claire Longworth, attended Apr 2023: This was a fun experience with a good atmosphere and the teacher was very helpful and organised
3/5 from Ashleigh Burns, attended Apr 2023: Unfortunately our night didn’t quite go as originally planned. We were moved upstairs into a public space which was cold and with no alternative space to paint in. We had to ask cups for drinks and there was a lack of supplies available given that the set up was a “pop up” style away from the main event space. The girls weren’t set up for the correct number of people which meant a late start to our painting experience but an abrupt finish where a lot of the attendee’s felt rushed and unfinished in what they were working on. As we were situated next to a bar, the bar staff began packing away seating and literally pushed their way by our group which was unnecessary as we did not choose to work in that space. Some of us made the most of the experience however others left feeling understandably frustrated and disappointed due to the miscommunication, the unorganised set up and the lack of guidance throughout the painting session.

Art Play London

4.8 (3,290)

Art Play London was founded by Silva Castellani in 2018, starting in galleries such as Phillips, and pop up venues around London.

Art Play is now a new art studio which opened in East London in February 2022, where children and adults of all ages are free to release their imaginations and inner creativity.

Art Play has a strong focus and the environment and aims to educate children and adults on their environmental impact through art, using a variety of sustainable mediums and materials.

Art Play is part of the worldwide Precious Plastic community which means it will be a plastic collection point for people to drop off their HDPE plastic which would otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean. The plastic is then shredding and melted and turned into useful objects and pieces of art, such as plant pots and coasters.
