  • 5/5 from Julie Davis, attended Sep 2026: Such a great afternoon... Time was taken to talk us through how to mix and understand the componants... Then he did a quick sample and off we went... i was really pleased with how my Seascene coasters... i bought the home making kit and will be giving a tray a go....
  • 5/5 from Laura Bailey, attended Sep 2026: Great class, very informative session, will enjoy doing more classes
  • 4/5 from Rachel Howard, attended Sep 2026: Informative class and enjoyed the activity. Would recommend and go again
  • 3/5 from Lynn Williams, attended Sep 2026: It was ok. I enjoyed the actual act of making the sea scape coaster. We could have done with less talking more doing. Could be helped with a few written sentences with the volumes as not all people can take in a whole bench of verbal instructions due to disabilities.
  • 3/5 from Leanne, attended Sep 2026: It was a nice experience to work with resin. Could have done with a laminate sheet or something with the step by step to follow along with whilst we were pouring, as it could be a little informational overwhelm at times. Was a lot of standing around and listening vs the time spent actually doing things, but not a bad experience.
  • 5/5 from Abby, attended Jun 2026: Brilliant afternoon at The River Shop learning resin seascapes. Richard is a superb teacher and the studio and surroundings are wonderful. Will definitely be back for more classes!
  • 5/5 from Sarah Eigelt, attended Jun 2026: We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this art workshop! The small group size made it feel very personal and allowed for plenty of individual attention. The instructor took a lot of time to explain every step in detail and made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the session. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone, whether you’re a beginner or already have some experience. Fantastic experience!
  • 5/5 from Magdalena Stander, attended Jun 2026: Excellent class! I will definitely use some techniques I’ve learnt in my mix media art. Thank you
  • 4/5 from James Best, attended May 2026: A really enjoyable, novel craft experience for my mum and I! Richard was knowledgeable and friendly, guiding us through creating some great-looking epoxy resin coasters. A few small logistical improvements would make it even better: the venue was a little tricky to find and could benefit from clearer signage, being offered a stool to sit on from the start would have been a welcome comfort, and on a warm day, easy access to drinking water would be appreciated. A lovely activity overall — we’d recommend it!
  • 5/5 from Anita Patel, attended Apr 2026: It was wonderful to learn about resins.
  • 5/5 from Tejal, attended Apr 2026: We had a small group which was just right for the attention required. Richard was a great teacher who taught the basic technique but encouraged us to explore our artistic flare. One thing would be useful would be to have a sheet of information of the technique for those wanting to to pursue this art further.
  • 5/5 from Tuhina, attended Apr 2026: Thoroughly enjoyed the beginners class
  • 5/5 from Asma Alawi, attended Feb 2026: I had a fantastic time at the Epoxy Resin Seascapes workshop! The teacher was friendly, patient, and explained each step clearly, making the whole process easy to follow. We learned how to mix resin, blend beautiful ocean colours, and create realistic wave effects. I especially loved experimenting with the different pigments and watching the seascape come to life. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and I left with a piece of art I’m really proud of. Highly recommend this workshop to anyone looking for a creative and enjoyable experience!
  • 5/5 from Cathy Howe, attended Jan 2026: Really good, enjoyed it very much. Liked that we were able to do an upgrade in addition to what we originally ordered
  • 5/5 from Johanna Margaret Claire Barton, attended Jan 2026: Great class - a lot of fun today!
  • 5/5 from Martin Aleay, attended Jan 2026: Thank you for a well organised, informative and enjoyable class this afternoon. Learning made fun!! Richard was great at both explains clearly and demonstrating the required techniques As novices we were still given great encouragement and praise for all our own and individual ideas Would certainly recommend wholeheartedly and hope to return for further courses Thank you again - Martin (Gloucestershire)
  • 5/5 from Izindi Visagie, attended Nov 2025: Loved the session and Nikki was great. We made some gorgeous seascapes and the session was enjoyed by all
  • 5/5 from Anthea Evenden, attended Oct 2025: Richard was friendly and his relaxed style of teaching put everyone at their ease.
  • 5/5 from Jessica Rotceig, attended Sep 2025: A great class! Everything was very well explained, Richard has a very calm and clear way of detailing the process and making you feel like you know what you’re doing! Am I thinking what next class I could do? 100%!!
  • 5/5 from Sarah Teasdale, attended Sep 2025: Great course for learning new skills and having fun. Relaxed and informal and a great way to spend the afternoon
  • 4/5 from Valentin Dobrota, attended Jun 2025: Overall, OK, but can be better. A lot of time wasted at the beginning with signing in. You only do the leveling of pieces by eye, sealing, color mixing, resin pouring and blowing. No resin mixing, color choice, or blowtorching. This was fine with me, but depends on what you're after. There could have been more explanations about how to get a nice looking piece. Some gotchas were not explained and there was more luck involved than truly necessary. Would have been better if I read/watched some materials before I reckon. You're doing all 4 coasters at the same time, so there's no practicing on 1 and then doing the other 3 unfortunately. Akward situation with getting the pieces after curing. They offer free shipping if you leave a review, otherwise you have to go get the piece from the studio. And we all know "free shipping" means "included in the price".
  • 5/5 from Sharon Rhys-Davies, attended May 2025: This class was so relaxing. Richard, our teacher, was very helpful and knowledgeable and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Making the seascape coasters was fun and every single one was different from the others I made and from everyone else’s too! I feel like I could do a lot more of this and Richard has take home kits so that you can do more. My friend and I decided to purchase an add-on and made a seascape tray too, which was well worth it and I cannot wait for my creations to arrive in the post!
  • 5/5 from Cecilia Compton, attended May 2025: So much fun and loved the pieces I came home with. No experience necessary to make beautiful pieces.
  • 5/5 from Janice Cole, attended May 2025: The class was fabulous and I would definitely recommend to anyone considering trying this craft. You will make 4 coaster and there is the option to add a larger piece if you want. Would go back.
  • 4/5 from Rucha Dixit, attended May 2025: Great experience and learning. Richard is very friendly and informative. I would have liked to mix the resin and hardener myself to be more hands on though. Overall worth it.
  • 5/5 from Varuni Mehrotra, attended Jan 2025: The class was amazing! I learnt a lot about resin. The teacher was very knowledgable and the class was interactive which I liked. We made beautiful coasters and I am looking forward to attending another workshop on resin at the studio soon! :)
  • 5/5 from Loraine Rossati, attended Jan 2025: Richard is a terrific teacher! He put everyone at ease and took us through the process step by step, very clearly and with straightforward instructions. Most importantly, he helped make it fun and I absolutely recommend it!
  • 5/5 from Vidya Shinde, attended Jan 2025: Richard was very nice, through in his class. He covered all the basics and also shared lot of knowledge that can be used if we want to use resin. He ensured we understand that reasons for each step that we were doing and why it is important. We all really enjoyed the sessions. I would highly recommend his class.
  • 5/5 from Alan O'Connor, attended Jan 2025: I attended the Epoxy Resin Seascapes class, our teacher was Richard. I had a fantastic time, Richard was very welcoming, informative and created a very relaxed atmosphere. • 5/5 from Joanna Costerton, attended Jan 2025: Great seascapes resin class!
  • 5/5 from Adam Morgan, attended Dec 2024: How to seal the wood, pour the resin and how create a wavy seascape scene art piece. The teacher was friendly and a great teacher, very helpful. The venue was very warm but that's because on the day it was very hot outside, the teacher did what he could to reduce the heat, otherwise the venue was nice enough and had a decent amountcofcparking available. I'd certainly recommend the courseCourse done: 10am, 9th Sept 2023
  • 5/5 from Ahmet Sakalli, attended Dec 2024: We attended to beginners epoxy resin class few weeks ago and decided to try seascapes course as well. It was well organised and so much fun. Richard is brilliant in explaining things and showing us new ways to apply. If youre into epoxy Id definitely recommend this course! Lovely atmosphere. Thank you once again
  • 5/5 from Ahmet Sakalli, attended Dec 2024: I've attended the Beginners class and then the Seascapes. I want to say that both classes were very well structured and informative. Richard took enough time to answer all of our questions and to explain us in depth how to work with the materials. I learned a lot of useful things and enjoyed both classes. I would definitely really them to anyone that wants to have fun, learn new skill or start building own projects.
  • 5/5 from Alex Czerniewska, attended Dec 2024: I really enjoyed the seascapes masterclass! It was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours learning a new craft. I came away feeling like id gained some technical knowledge of working with epoxy resin, and the teacher was very happy to answer general questions about working with different types of resin. On the other hand, it was really well managed so it was almost impossible to mess up the resin and everyone left with unique but beautiful coasters. I chose not to do a bigger piece at the end, but bear in mind to budget for another 40++ for an add-on object.
  • 5/5 from Alexandru Andronic, attended Dec 2024: The class has been great. The instructor has been very organised and knowledgable. Definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to get a strong foundation on how to use Epoxy resin.
  • 5/5 from Alice, attended Dec 2024: The class was fun and beginner-friendly.
  • 5/5 from Alice Liao, attended Dec 2024: I booked an Epoxy Resin seascape, made 4 coasters, and upgraded to make a tray as well. The teacher was really friendly and ran the class smoothly. It is fun and beginner friendly, recommended.
  • 5/5 from Alice Smith, attended Dec 2024: Really enjoyed the Seascapes class.
  • 5/5 from Alison McNulty, attended Dec 2024: After a friends recommendation, i finally booked this class and it was amazing. Richard made us all feel at ease; giving expert tuition, but with a great attitude to allow for creativity. You leave having the skills to try this on your own, which is surely the objective of such a course, but there are also options for going further into different courses (which I'll definitely try). This was a class that had been on my wish list for some time and I'm really so glad I did it.
  • 5/5 from Alison Moretti, attended Dec 2024: Thos was a fantastic course. Wull definitely look out for more.
  • 5/5 from Amanda Amanda, attended Dec 2024: Had a very enjoyable morning doing the seascape resin course ran by Richard. Not done anything like this before but would love to do it again, Richard explained every thing in simple easy to follow instructions and the end results were better than expected
  • 5/5 from Amanda Baptiste, attended Dec 2024: Brilliant morning, the tutor was very informative, so I was able to complete the project confidently. I loved Richards style of teaching very encouraging, very excited about my next workshop!
  • 5/5 from Amogh Deshpande, attended Dec 2024: The class was exciting and informative. Had a lot of fun working on sea scapes.
  • 5/5 from Andrea Naylor, attended Dec 2024: Great afternoon,. Lovely workshop and beautiful products. Richard was Knowledgeable and helpful and I enjoyed his class very much my sister and I are planning to return soon! The only bit I wasn't comfortable with was introductions at the beginning, but other than that fab!
  • 5/5 from Andrew Smith, attended Dec 2024: My second resin course at River Shop and while it recapped on some of the elements of the first course this was more focussed on resin art rather than resin casting which was covered in the beginners epoxy resin workshop. New techniques were demonstrated and practical applications explained and then we were issued with resin and left to create our own 'masterpieces' - go easy with the resin, it needs to go a long way as there are four coasters to cover. All in all a fun informative course which I would recommend to anyone wishing to get an insight into how to create resin based art.
  • 5/5 from Anita Ragan, attended Dec 2024: We both had a great time learning how to do seascapes. Dan have a very good demonstration, with clear explanations. Between all of us we made twenty coasters - every one a unique piece. It was exciting to learn how one little change of quantity or technique can change the look of a piece. There was a great mix of people in the small group, and we're looking forward to doing another class next year!
  • 5/5 from Ann-Marie Denton, attended Dec 2024: Very interactive and fun. Dan the instructor was very knowledgeable and passionate. Im looking forward to the next course
  • 5/5 from Aya, attended Dec 2024: It was a fun and great workshop to attend. The instruction was very clear and Dan and Agi(sorry if I spelled it wrong) were both very helpful! Highly recommend it
  • 5/5 from Belen Gomez, attended Dec 2024: I learnt how to make four resin coasters decorated with a seaside landscape and I absolutely loved it. The teacher was very good and explained very well what needed to be done. After making the coasters there was a possibility to upgrade to decorate a bigger project (wooden tray, chopping board) you had to pay for this separately tho. I would definitely come back to try a different class in the future.
  • 4/5 from Ashima Bangur, attended Dec 2024: It was my first time and I was kinda nervous cause I had never tried anything artistic. But Richard was very professional and helpful. He guided us through the whole process, answering even my silly questions. After the first round, I was confident enough to get my hands dirty for the next level. Would def recommend people to have this experience, and I'll be back for more :)
