Handbuilding Ceramics Taster Class with African Jazz - BYOB

A Friday night of African Jazz and ceramics. Explore hand-building with the coil method.

3 hours Class size 1 to 10 guests       £40

Welcome to Nobody's Native x Clay Play Event!
A Friday night to connect with some soil, each other and enjoy some African Jazz at 7 Stroud Green Rd.
Together, we’ll delve into the serene world of hand-building using the coil method and embrace the imperfections we might find ourselves in. No prior experience in ceramics is necessary so come as you are and BYOB.
By the end of the 3 hours each vessel crafted during the course will have a personal meaning and energy.
Over the following weeks, I’ll finish the pieces with a glaze of your choice. Creations can be expected back 2-4 weeks after the end of the course, hand-wrapped and ready to be loved.
Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with fellow art enthusiasts and learn new skills in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Come solo or bring a friend - the more, the merrier! We can't wait to see what masterpieces you'll create at Nobody's Native x Clay Play.
What you'll get
All materials are included in the price. Please consider that a ceramic requires two fires in the kiln for functionality, so patience is key.

  • 5/5 from Lauren, attended Oct 2024: I had such a lovely time letting my creative juices flow, spending some wholesome time with friends & enjoying our teacher Marcia’s guidance. Marcia is calm & patient - she encourages you to explore your own creativity, rather than telling you what to do. This isn’t an activity I’ve done before, so I really enjoyed my experience and can’t wait to see the end product!!
  • 5/5 from Ella, attended Oct 2024: I went to this class knowing nothing about pottery and left wanting to do it again and again! Marcia is the best, most lovely, teacher. I couldn’t recommend this class highly enough!!
  • 5/5 from Chelsea, attended Oct 2024: The most soul filling Friday night with a lovely and knowledgeable instructor! Marcia was amazing and created a gorgeous atmosphere to learn, play, and connect with the craft of pottery. Coming in with no experience, I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t be able to make anything but came away feeling so confident and refreshed in creating. Such a fun event in a welcoming space def recommend to any skill levels!
