What you'll do

In this alternative online art class, you will learn face painting techniques for a fun and colourful adventure.

Whether you're looking for a fun thing to do at home with friends, a chance to be creative with your little ones, or maybe you fancy opening up a stall at your local charity event or fair, everyone will have fun experimenting with this body painting class.

You'll be guided by a friendly and talented teacher, Cat. She has loads of experience with legal requirements, products, and equipment that will be valuable for you on your face painting journey. She will cover health and safety as well as basic skills with the brushes and sponges.

Learn how to decorate faces, your arms, legs, or a special practice board, as well as each other! Cat can fully customize your class to specific themes or events that you want to practice for.

By the end of this exciting virtual experience, you will have so many new artistic skills in your repertoire and a feeling of creative satisfaction!

None, this class is for beginners.

A set of basic FDA/EU approved water-based face paints
Face paint sponges
Size 6 round brush
A small water sprayer.

Everyone also needs to bring:

A clean cup or small bowl to hold water
A facecloth.

After Art College, a BSc & a Biology PGCE, I taught in the London Natural History Museum, and then the Jurassic Coast.

I discovered face painting whilst in Zoo Education and started my part-time business in face & body art in 2001. I won many titles including UK Professional Face Painter of the Year, 5th in the World Face Awards, so went fulltime as an artist in 2006. Most recently I placed 14th in the World Body Paint Championships 2021 (highest UK entry).

I teach, demo and judge face, body and eco-cosmetic glitter art in colleges and at events worldwide and was one of the few artists painting 100 faces daily for years. I'm often booked at large corporate events such as Prides and major festivals, as well as for parties and clubs.

I also create props, accessories, stencils and artwork, as well as urban art on large 3D statues for city trails.

As a UK Cricut Ambassador I teach, demo and use those amazing machines in my personal and business life too. I'm Hobbycraft's 1st face Paint Artisan, and a Cricut Artisan with them as well.
