Clear directions to location. Teacher was friendly, enthusiatic, put you at ease from the get go, and willing to answer all questions throughout the workshop. The materials provided were of great quality, with clear instructions of how to use them along the way. A great introduction to Kintsugi, ideal as a single/couple/group or as a gift for someone looking for craft ideas

Really fun experience. Welcoming, peaceful environment to learn a new skill. All materials provided and we were so happy with the product we got to take home. Cody is a fab teacher and very supportive. Would go again.

Teacher was great at explaining the history of Kintsugi and modelling the variety of products that can be made using the technique.
She was personable and attentive to everyones needs and took the time to help each student.
Class was really fun and we have come away with a new appreciation of the philosophy of Kintsugi.

The session was run in a very cool art studio with everything needed for the class provided including tea and biscuits.

Our teacher was wonderful and very patient with us, and very knowledgeable.

Overall was well worth the money, will be recommending this class to friends.

Not only did the class teach me about art; it also taught me an element about life

Kintsugi was something I had a vague understanding of, but actually trying it was an eye-opening and meditative experience. Cody was a great teacher and explained and guided us through the process as well as helping us to understand the symbolism involved. The act of repairing a broken object while accentuating it with gold whilst simultaneously allowing the breaks to exist and not hiding them, is deeply symbolic of our own ability to repair our own psyche and learn to allow what is. Anyone who has had challenges with trauma and or anxiety/depression would in my opinion find this very theraputic and healing ultimately. Cody was a wonderful host and teacher and as well as the process being meditative we all had fun. I would highly recommend this to anyone in need of healing and also as an enjoyable exploration of a traditional Japanese practice.

What a wonderful class. Cody is an excellent tutor and guided us through all the stages of Kintsugi. We all left with a beautiful piece of art and I will certainly do more. Everything was provided which contributed to the whole experience being a delight. The venue is perfect but it is Cody who is the shining star of this class. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Booked as a birthday present and three of us attended, age range 38-64. Venue was easy to find and the right size for the small class (6 on this occasion). When the booking blurb says everything is provided that's exactly what it meant, no need to bring anything, apron and protective gloves all there. Cody was a very good teacher; enthusiastic but not gushing, helpful and hands on but not so you lost control of "your" piece. As a taster session I gained a bit of an insight into the practice Kintsugi to better appreciate it's history and the philosophy behind it to the point I am enthused to find out more. Would I repeat the same class? No. Would I want to sign up for the next level? Yesbut only once I'd practiced more at home (materials and equipment for the type of basic non-food-safe work we did are inexpensive and readily available) and no, I'm not on commission or a friend of Cody!

Went on a solo date to this class. It was a small group, only 6 of us which was nice. The teacher was calm, patient and explained things really clearly. I enjoyed the process and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a couple of hours focused on creating something beautiful out of something broken

Amazing experience! Really great teacher who explained everything beautifully. I would definitely recommend the class!

I booked this class for a birthday present for a friend and three of us went. The teacher was really nice and helpful, she spread her time evenly, and she answered all our questions. There was enough time for one object repair and someone had enough time to fix his own bowl as well. All materials were provided and of great quality, and the ceramics are upcycled.
The venue was very nice, just a bit on the noisy side because a pottery workshop was taking place at the same time.

We had an amazing time and would strongly recommend to other friends!

Attending the Kintsugi class with my company's group of 18 was a remarkable experience. Under the expert guidance of our tutor, we explored the art of repairing broken pottery with a mix of lacquer and precious metals. The hands-on process was both therapeutic and eye-opening, turning the mending of cracks into a metaphor for embracing imperfections. The studio's ambiance, coupled with our passion and personalized guidance, created a memorable and meaningful experience. I left not just with a beautifully restored piece but with a newfound perspective on embracing life's flaws. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a unique and contemplative creative outlet.

We had a great teacher who explained a bit of the background of Kintsugi, showed us how it’s done and also kept coming around to help everyone. A nice extra point was that we got tea, as the room is quite cold, that was very welcomed.

This was the perfect team building exercise for our high-performing (and sometimes high stress) group! Our instructor (Cody) was masterful in describing the formal history of kintsugi, and we all quickly reverted into our creative right-brains after a long day of number-crunching. It was great that our instructor was flexible enough to setup shop in our offices. Highly recommend!

I had a great itme in this class! Cody was lovely, so helpful and easy to understand. She explained each step really well, showed us what to do, and made time to help everyone indivuidually. I really liked that there was enough time in the class to finish a piece to walk away with. I would absolutely recommend it!

Cody was absolutely brilliant! We had such a fun time. She really helped me with the more tricky sections and helped me relax into the class. It was so lovely to see my friends create their pieces.

I was bought an introductory to Kintsugi workshop for my birthday, since I absolutely love the philosophy behind the art form. From the get go, the whole experience was amazing. Our teacher, Cody, put us at ease immediately and patiently took us through what we could expect from the session. The venue was so inspiring, with other creative classes taking place at the same time. We were provided with a broken pot and all of the materials we needed to put back together our pot, and encouraged to just start!

My learns from the workshop: -

- Things don’t need to be perfect; embrace imperfections.
- There is greater success when we take small steps and plan our approach.
- Broken pieces make things stronger.
- Patience creates a great finished piece; pause and enjoy the moment.
- Too much force and it will fail.

Absolutely exceptional value for money. The sense of accomplishment at the end is huge and so rewarding. I will be back. Thank you! x

Teacher's response

Thank you for this Natalie! Loved seeing your piece come together!️

Really lovely evening with a friendly bunch of other kintsugi-newbies! Cody was so welcoming and a great teacher, she took the time to check in with us all individually and made sure we were comfortable with what we were doing. The class held at a working pottery studio and uses spares from their classes, meaning the pottery item you get to work with is not only gorgeous but unique and handmade. Highly recommended!

Fun evening out, good to go somewhere new and try something different. 2 hours went in a flash.

Kate Manning Nov 2023

As a total novice, I felt so welcomed by Cody. She explained the history and science behind kintsugi, which I really loved, and made it such a fun experience. I’m so happy with the pieces I made - one I brought to fix for a friend and the other I got to break and fix. And I bought a beautiful kit as a Christmas present. It’s done in a sustainable, non-wasteful way, with cast-offs from a studio, which I also loved. Had such a great time, and definitely thinking about signing up for the follow up course.

I am so looking forward for the course. On a plus note too location (Cernamic studio) is really cool too.
